Roles and Responsibilities
- Migration from DB2 to MS Azure or AWS Cloud environments, the Databases could be MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and/or MongoDB
- Understand and resolve the data migration challenges
- Understand DB2 Log Files – frequency of archival – Change Data Capture events
- Understand and develop/maintain DB2 Triggers – in a Mission Critical Environment
- Data transformations to be supported:
- data type and encoding transformation:= (a) MS SQL Server and (b) PostgreSQL;
- Schema change (merge data from three tables in source, to one table in destination):=MySQL;
- Change from Relational to Document Type (JSON):= MongoDB.
- Conduct all the Data migration test cases in parallel.
- Provide a comprehensive set of test scenarios these should include
- Test Data
- Data Quality
- Data Mismatch
- Data Loss
- Recovery from failure scenarios – e.g. rollback and point in time roll forward
- Work in an Agile-DevOps mode – part of Scrum Teams – should be familiar with Agile Practices (and associated tooling: Kanban boards; JIRA; Confluence; etc.).
- Proactive in collaborating with the geographically distributed teams – hence – comfortable to work remotely.
Knowledge and Skillsets
- Minimum 8 (eight) years’ experience in administering and migrating DB2 Databases
- Provide DB2 Database Administration support – (Both Systems DBA as well as Applications DBA knowledge is essential).
- Monitor database performance performed data change requests, migration and database maintenance.
- Analyze capacity and growth of databases using various automated testing tools and performance optimization.
- Demonstrable experience in Support, designing, troubleshooting of above technology
- Ability to articulate best practices during implementation
- Demonstrated experience in handling database Migration
- Motivated and Self-Reliant individual.
