NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Senior Assistant Quality Assurance Officer (AQAO) to join our team in Bangor, Washington (US-WA), United States (US).

 

 

The Submarine Development Squadron 5 (COMSUBDEVRON FIVE) Assitant Quality Assurance Officer (AQAO) will provide in-depth submarine QA support. Those functions include but are not limited to the following responsibilities the contractor shall fulfill:


1. Perform work that requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations of submarine repairs and refurbishments.
2. Understand the unique requirements of nuclear powered vessels, Submarine Safety Program (SUBSAFE), Scope of Certification (SOC), Fly by Wire (FBW) and the QA/Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) required of such repairs.
3. Advise and assist the Material/Quality Assurance Officer on matters pertaining to Quality Assurance, SOC, FBW and SUBSAFE programs.
4. Administer or manage the Departure from Specification (DFS) system for submarines to:
a. Establish and maintain systems of processing requests for DFSs.
b. Review and evaluate DDFS requests and obtain clarification of technical specifications.
c. Approve or disapprove DFS requests, as allowed by JFMM. Obtain TYCOM/NAVSEA approval of DFS when required by the appropriate TYCOM/NAVSEA directive, technical specification or manual.
d. Ensure submission of Office of the Chief of Naval Operation (OPNAV) form 4790/2K to document DFS required action in the ship’s CSMP.
e. Maintain files of outstanding DFSs.
f. Aggressively pursue clearing of DFSs.
5. Schedule and conduct QA program assessments in conjunction with the Inter-Deployment Training Cycle of all assigned ships to ensure the repair actions undertaken by Ship’s Force conform to the provisions of the QA program as well as pertinent technical requirements.
6. Perform annual SUBSAFE/SOC/FBW awareness training for staff members that routinely review SUBSAFE/SOC/FBW objective quality evidence. Contractor make determinations on SUBSAFE/SOC/FBW DFSs and perform other SUBSAFE/SOC/FBW work oversight functions.
7. Provides monthly training to submarine QA and Assistant QA Officers on topics and requirements from the JFMM and SUBSAFE manual and other technical manuals as directed by the Material Officer.
8. Assist in 3M inspections, fleet maintenance activity, Quality Assurance and material management assessments as requested.  

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• 12+ years of experience with the QA program and FMP management practices and a thorough knowledge of automated modernization information systems applicable to Departure from Specifications (DFS), electronic DFS (eDFS), ATIS, RMAIS, VSB and SHIPALTS and A&Is contractor and installation activities.
• 12+ years of experience in submarine maintenance, IMA, or submarine repair
• 8+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Inspector (QAI) or ship’s 3M Coordinator or monitoring the 3M or QA system while working in a Submarine Material Office (N4 Squadron, FMA, NSSC, Shipyard or higher).

Undergraduate Degree or equivalency
