We are currently seeking a Java Software Developer to join our team in Fort Knox, Kentucky (US-KY), United States (US).

NTT DATA is looking for a Systems Engineer – Intermediate to support a critical Department of Defense program located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. As part of this program, the client requires support in the design, development, and cybersecurity of applications, databases, and networks that support the client’s mission.

 

Position's General Duties and Tasks

In the role of an Intermediate .Net Software Engineer, under general supervision, performs high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex application that require a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills.  Directs and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases (IV&V and DT&E).  Applies higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solution. In this role you will write, modify, and debut web applications and assist other developers in coding and debugging issues. You will work with business representatives to define requirements and develop technical specifications. As part of your duties you will setup and maintain software development and server environment for other developers while monitoring quality assurance and required up-times of supported systems and their data sources.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain an interim secret clearance prior to start
  • 5+ years of software development experience
    • 2 years’ experience using Microsoft Visual Studio for Web based development;  
  • Ability to obtain Security+ CE certification prior to start
  • 8570 IAT II computing environment certification within 90 days of start

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment
  • 2+ years’ experience supporting DoD or Army clients in a management or leadership role
  • Possesses and applies broad knowledge of applications programming principles.
  • Competent to analyze diverse and complex problems.
  • Competent to work in all phases of applications programming.
  • Knowledge includes advanced work on standard applications programs including coding, testing and debugging.
  • Advanced ability to effectively troubleshoot program errors.
  • Advanced understanding of how technology decisions relate to business needs.
  • Comfortable with debugging and analyzing software errors;  
  • Comfortable with object oriented analysis and design;  
  • Comfortable working with and writing HTML and XML;
