NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Security Analyst (Security Operations Centre) to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada (CA).

 

 

Our customer is seeking a Security Analyst to join our recently formed Security Operations Centre (SOC). The team provides a 24x7 first point of contact for security related incidents within the firm. Its members monitor the firm’s environment for abnormal behavior and potential security breaches by triaging and investigating security alerts.


Responsibilities 
•Real time triage and short term analysis of security alerts
•Prioritization and escalation of alerts and incidents that exceed the SOC threshold
•Production, curation and presentation of tactical SOC metrics
•Compliance and audit monitoring handling of events
•Development of procedures and delivery of these within the SOC
•Tuning of controls within the network
•Works on a 24/7/365 follow-the-sun rotation

 

Qualifications
•Five years of relevant experience
•Bachelor degree in computer science or related field
•Practical experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, anti-malware, web filtering, vulnerability scanning and endpoint detection and response tools
•Hands-on experience investigating common types of attacks such as brute-force, phishing, DDoS and drive-by downloads
•Hands-on experience analyzing logs, security events and network traffic
•Communications skills to effectively summarize and present findings

 

Desired Skills and Experience
•Knowledge of information security threat types, their composition and IOCs
•Hands-on experience identifying security events, performing analysis and initiating response activities
•In-depth knowledge of security event management, network security monitoring, log collection and correlation
•Broad knowledge of various security products and processes
•Preferred experience in an operational environment such as SOC, CSIRT, CERT, etc.
