NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Project Management Specialist to join our team in Herndon, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

 

 

Description: As a project management specialist, provide support to multiple projects of varying type, size, duration and complexity. The PM Specialist will be expected to draw upon project management fundamentals; utilize a variety of tools and applications; and access multiple data sources or coordinate with different departments in order to best support employees in the field and senior leadership at headquarters. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project support – Provide general, holistic project management support to other Delivery Managers (DMs) in the field, client managers (CM) at headquarters, and senior leadership as needed. Examples may include:
    • Performance metrics and assessments
    • New opportunity/proposal support
    • Project audits
    • Presentation development/maintenance
    • Cost/Benefit [and other financial] analysis
    • Assist DMs/employees with deliverables, forecasting, and timekeeping
  • Data calls – Respond to data call requests of varying time sensitivities from DMs and senior management or create – and follow up on – data calls to be sent to DMs and employees.
  • Governance and oversight – Proactively oversee the day-to-day needs and maintenance of projects. Include ensuring deliverable are completed and submitted; data calls are responded to; invoices are timely; issues are resolved; etc. Examples include:
    • Monitor and review contract modifications, funding status, and purchase orders
    • Review and approve client invoices
    • Oversight of project personnel (new hires, time charging, leave, staffing plan)
  • Process improvement – Participate in improving internal and external processes to increase efficiencies and resolve problems. Assist PMO manager with developing standards for all DMs.
  • Communication – Maintain contact with DMs and employees in the field to ensure needs are met. Communicate with internal stakeholders and departments to ensure work is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Tools – Utilize tools and programs to create reports, develop presentations and analyze data including:
    • Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
    • Deltek suite of tools (B&P, CostPoint, Cognos)
    • Other databases and internally developed tools

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years' demonstratable experience supporting delivery projects (on-site or HQ)
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of IT project management priciples and techniques
  • BA/BS degree or higher from accredited institution
  • Must meet minimum requirements to obtain security clearance

 Desired:

  • BA/BS degree or higher in management, engineering or IT related field
  • Active Secret/Top Secret security clearance
  • Project Management certifications, e.g. PMP, PgMP, ITILv3, etc.
  • Been a lead and/or PM for a one or more projects
