NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Telecom Technician to join our team in Hickory, North Carolina (US-NC), United States (US).

 

 

Role Responsibilities:
 

 

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs voice communications systems hardware and software components to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
  • Monitors company telecommunications, responds to system malfunctions and performs corrective actions.
  • Assists in the installation of new hardware/software voice and video systems.
  • Tests, troubleshoots and resolves telecommunication problems.
  • Maintains current documentation of systems configuration, applications, and technical reference material.
  • Provides technical assistance to users regarding equipment and system functions.
  • Performs normal moves, adds, and changes to telecom hardware and software in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • 4 – 6 years of combined relevant education & technical experience
  • 4 yrs experience with Nortel CS1000 and Mitel phone systems
  • Expert understanding of the fundamentals of telecommunication; installations, upgrades, techniques, tools, materials and equipment.
  • Advanced skills in telecommunications procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Reads and understands equipment diagnostic reports.
  • Advanced understanding of the telecommunications role of the business and how the telecommunications processes affect the business users.
  • Solid customer interaction skills

Preferences:

  • Prior experience in healthcare IT operations and support
  • Prior experience with Remedy Incident Management
  • Understands how to adapt telecommunications techniques, tools, and equipment to meet specific user needs.
  • Associates degree in related field
  • Certification such as A+, Network+, and/or CCNA
