We are currently seeking a Network Design Engineer to join our team in London, London, City of (GB-LND), United Kingdom (GB).

This position is to deliver network designs and implementations to support business units for a major banking client. The work involves doing research, analyzing the current setup, understanding what the new setup needs to be to meet business requirements, understanding the network products to fulfil this and producing documentation right down to the network configurations as well as raising change controls and taking these approved changes and implementing it on the production network.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the business to understand their network requirements.
  • Produce a hardware network design document to support ordering of equipment
  • Produce a full network design document with detailed network configurations which will allow the build team to successfully implement your solution.
  • Using the design document produced, create Build Packages which will include implementation plans, test plans and change controls.
  • Oversee the deployment of Build Packages on the corporate data network. Implementing changes occurs out of business hours during the week and at weekends.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, local business representatives and stakeholders of the project providing timely updates to ensure successful delivery of the projects.
  • Ensure that all project management systems are updated to reflect time spent and current forecasted time to deliver the project.
  • Ensure that the solution is fit for purpose, meets the business objectives and follows the companies processes and standards.
  • The network B2B build engineer will have a number of projects all at different stages of the project lifecycle.


Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience working with network and security products from multiple vendors, including Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto and Checkpoint.
  • Any NFV knowledge or experience such as using the Cisco Cloud Services Platform 5000  
  • Strong working knowledge of at least three of the following routing protocols: EIGRP, IGRP, BGP, OSPF, RIP.
  • Good knowledge of Data Center network, LAN and WAN solutions
  • Strong working knowledge of IP, IPSEC, NAT VPNs, VXLANs, B2B connectivity.
  • Experience of using Multicast in a Cisco environment.
  • Working knowledge and doing work in a colo
  •  Familiar with Cisco Voice Gateways, IPT and VOIP



  • Delivered network designs and implemented solutions using Cisco products.
  • Expert understanding of Cisco  networks router & switching technologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of typical investment/retail banking environments or equivalent (major ISP, systems integrator or global enterprise).
