NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Windows Desktop Engineer / Spécialiste principal en Postes de travail Windows to join our team in Montreal, Quebec (CA-QC), Canada (CA).

 

 

L’équipe d’ingénierie des postes de travail se consacre à fournir des ordinateurs de bureau Windows de catégorie entreprise et est responsable de toutes les facettes de la conception, de la configuration et de l’intégration de ces ordinateurs pour l’entreprise. L’équipe est également responsable de l’ingénierie du navigateur et des produits de bureautique de l’entreprise ainsi que d’autres outils de productivité et intergiciels. Nous sommes à la recherche d’une personne capable de contribuer à bon nombre d’initiatives en cours dans certains de ces domaines et d’assumer des tâches d’ingénierie du début à la fin. Le candidat aura de solides compétences techniques, une vision stratégique, de grandes compétences en communication et la capacité de bien collaborer avec les autres au sein d’une équipe internationale.

 

Principales responsabilités associées à ce poste :

-          Concevoir de nouvelles technologies liées aux ordinateurs de bureau et tenir à jour les technologies existantes pour l’entreprise.

-          Veiller à ce que les produits répondent aux exigences de sécurité, de soutenabilité et de performance nécessaires.

-          S’assurer que nous répondons aux attentes de nos utilisateurs quant à l’expérience utilisateur.

-          Créer, passer en revue, gérer et mettre à jour la documentation.

-          Fournir un soutien de troisième niveau afin d’enquêter sur les causes profondes de certains problèmes et de les résoudre.

-          Transmettre des connaissances aux pairs.

 

APTITUDES EXIGÉES

-          Le candidat idéal possédera une vaste expérience et une connaissance approfondie des systèmes d’exploitation Windows, de la gestion des applications de productivité des utilisateurs finaux, des technologies standard connexes et des produits de tiers.

-          Compréhension technique approfondie des systèmes d’exploitation Windows, de la version de 64 bits à Windows 10, inclusivement.

 

DOIT AVOIR :

-          Expérience en conception de solutions techniques répondant à des besoins opérationnels complexes

-          Vaste expérience des outils courants utilisés par des tiers pour la gestion et le soutien de grands environnements, c.-à-d. SCCM/WSUS

-          Bonne compréhension du fonctionnement des navigateurs modernes, tant du point de vue de l'ordinateur que du réseau

-          Capacité d’utiliser le langage de script PowerShell

-          Expérience en gestion du déploiement ou de la migration d’Office 2016/365 à grande échelle

-          Connaissance de l’infrastructure Windows courante (p. ex., Active Directory, GPO)

-          Solides aptitudes pour le dépannage (p. ex., analyse du journal des événements, des outils Sysinternals, analyse de l’image mémoire, etc.)

-          Expérience des outils et des techniques de déploiement à grande échelle sur les ordinateurs de bureau dans les grandes organisations décentralisées

-          Capacité de rédiger des documents de nature technique et sur la gestion opérationnelle (documents relatifs à la conception et à l’ingénierie de système, dossiers d’exploitation)

-          Connaissance du matériel informatique des ordinateurs de bureau et des portables

-          Baccalauréat (un atout)

 

 

The Desktop Engineering Team is committed to delivering enterprise-class Windows Desktop builds and are responsible for all aspects of the design, configuration and integration of the Windows Desktops into the firm. The team is also responsible for the engineering of the firms browser and office products along with other end-user productivity tools and middleware. We are looking for a person to be able to contribute too many of the on-going initiatives in some of these areas and owning engineering tasks from beginning to end. The candidate will have a very strong technical foundation, a strategic mindset, great communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others in a truly global team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Engineer/sustain existing/new desktop-related technologies into the firm
  • Ensure products meet the necessary security, supportability, performance requirements
  • Ensure we meet our users' expectations around user experience
  • Create, review, maintain and update documentation
  • Provide 3rd line support to investigate & troubleshoot root causes
  • Dissemination of knowledge among peers

Required Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience/knowledge of Windows operating systems, management of end-user productivity apps, standard associated technologies and third-party products.
  • Deep technical understanding of Windows Desktop x64 operating systems up to and including Windows 10 MUST HAVE
  • Experience designing technical solutions to meet complex business requirements
  • Extensive experience with common third-party tools used to manage/support large environments. i.e. AppSense/SCCM
  • A good understanding of how a modern browser works both from a desktop and networking perspective
  • Scripting ability with PowerShell
  • Experience in engineering Large Scale Deployment/Migrations of Office 2010/2013
  • Knowledge of common Windows Infrastructure i.e. Active Directory/GPO
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset (i.e. parsing event log, Sysinternals tools, analyzing memory dumps etc)
  • Experience of large scale desktop deployment tools and techniques in large distributed organizations
  • Ability to write technical and operational management documentation (system design and engineering documents, operational runbooks)
  • Desktop/Laptop Hardware Knowledge
  • Bachelor Degree

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of software packaging tools (e.g. InstallShield, App-V sequencer, Wise)
  • Experience in Configuring and Supporting Microsoft Outlook in Microsoft Exchange Environment
  • Some development experience/knowledge
  • Experience of working in a global environment
