We are currently seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Software Development Specialist  to join our team in Harahan, LA, USA.

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Software Development Specialist manages projects with oversight from his/her supervisor, understands own area, is able to perform all facets of the role, and has experience in most issues that may arise, although requires guidance with assignments that are new or outside normal scope of work. Provides application design and documentation that spans multiple applications and/or functions. Participates on and may lead, complex projects with significant impact on IT and / or business. Mentors less experienced team members. Works with technical staff and business to understand problems with software and assists to resolve them. Prioritizes own work regarding the development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software or enhancements to existing software.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Applied in-depth knowledge of one or more programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, PL/SQL. Expert (5+ Years’ Experience)
  • Substantive knowledge of coding, testing and debugging. Expert (5+ Years’ Experience)
  • Proven ability to apply programming languages to develop solutions to business needs. Expert (5+ Years’ Experience)
  • ESRI’s GIS tool set (ArcMap, ArcGIS-Pro, Portal, ArcGIS Server). Expert (5+ Years’ Experience)
  • Relational database development (Oracle). Expert (5+ Years’ Experience)
  • Web-based maps/applications and basic cartographic principles. Expert (5+ Years’ Experience)

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Consistently applies fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications. 
  • Competent to work in all phases of applications programming and design. Expert (5+ Years’ Experience)

 

 

Candidates for this position will be required to adhere to NTT DATA’s and its clients’ COVID-19 health and safety protocols. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rules, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position who works in Colorado is $90,000 - $130,000. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on a number of factors, including work location, relevant experience (internal or external), technical skills, and other qualifications. The candidate may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on personal and/or company performance. This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life  and AD&D, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
