We are currently seeking a Network (Operations) Engineer - Phoenix, AZ or CA to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona (US-AZ), United States (US).

 Role and Responsibilities:  

  • Ability to articulate and be precise in written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to travel to sites to perform work depending on incidents and changes. Some customer sites are 24 x 7.
  • Able to coordinate network project tasks and maintenance windows with user community, peer network staff, and Change Management team.
  • Ability to work with vendors and be professionally assertive when required.
  • Able to relate information to technical and non-technical users, peers and senior leaders.
  • Able to process ITAM (IT Asset Manager) and MACD (Move, Add, Change, Delete) items, and coordinate maintenance windows with user community and Change Management team.
  • Able to work in a Help Desk System on a list of delegated requests and incidents that must be completed within a fixed SLA.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects and tasking.
  • Review performance metrics for circuits and equipment and proactively open and resolve issues when need arises.
  • Participate in Secondary On-Call Rotation
  • Provide documentation as required including Asset Management, Smart-Net, RMA processing, IP management, Visio network topology, and others as required.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 environment.  Off hours/weekends/holidays (This is a hospital environment) ; schedule can be flexible based on your hours worked each week
  • Ability to travel as needed.  Valid driver’s licenses.  (mileage will be expensed by company)
  • Willingness to take direction.
  • Ability and provide leadership and training to junior employees. 
  • Ability to work independently. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 + years’ experience with Enterprise Networking engineering or support
  • 8 + years’ experience with Telco services. T1, MLFR, MLPPP, DS3, ATM, MPLS, Metro Ethernet
  • Experience with Cisco hardware and command line interface
  • ITIL and service management experience


Highly Preferred Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience in the healthcare or medical industry (optional) 
  • CCIE Certification Preferred 
  • Knowledge of Meditech, Siemens, Cerner, Allscripts, and McKesson products (optional) 
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH, Security Privacy plus, and Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (desired) 
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills 
  • Participation in on-call rotations and working at a “hands on” level with Tier 3 technical support teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, hardware engineering, or relevant degree is preferred
  • Advanced ability to understand business needs to work with our vendors and Sales Engineers to translate those needs into network requirements to maintain Hardware and Software standards across all network technologies
  • Experience with multi-vendor management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and troubleshooting with TCP/IP. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and troubleshooting of Telco services. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco command line commands
  • Demonstrated knowledge and troubleshooting of Wireless services.
  • CCNP, CCIE or equivalent experience.
