We are currently seeking a Regulatory Policy Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).


You will work on client projects as part of a team and be responsible for problem solving. You will play a key role in assessment, analysis, evaluation, review, inspection of regulations and regulatory policies. You will also provide support for a variety of programs and initiatives, covering both immigration and customs. You will work closely with the clients to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of existing federal law enforcement regulations and identification of changes
  • Creation of artifact documents and draft text to support submission of new regulatory packages
  • Review and recommend regulations for new and deployed technology
  • Perform Capability Analysis and review of program artifacts
  • Verify how federal law enforcement's existing regulatory authority supports, or fails to support innovation projects
  • Identify gaps in federal law enforcement regulatory authority and recommend potential changes
  • Provide process assessments to align strategic documents with federal law enforcement regulatory guidelines and policies


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience supporting any company or agency in policy, legal, advisory matters
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in Regulatory, Trade policy.
  • Bachelor’s Degree any field
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Active CBP Background Investigation preferred
  • Degree in Law or international business or international relations
  • Necessary legal expertise to analyze CBP statutes, regulations, and policies
  • Able to synthesize information in formats that can be presented to all levels of leadership
  • Experience in Customs law, including fines, penalties, seizures, forfeitures and liquidated damages; bonds and bonding; entry of merchandise; cargo redelivery; cargo transportation; conveyances
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
