We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).
Job Description:
Under general direction, the Senior Network Engineer will manage the purchase, installation, and support of network communications, including local area network and wide-area network (LAN/WAN) systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for evaluating current systems.
- Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors.
- Plans large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
- Provides work leadership and training to lower-level network engineers.
- Requires expert knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications.
- Assists in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of network engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in an IT-related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with each of the following: network administration technologies such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, RADIUS, log servers, packet capture and analysis, AAA services, IP address space management--IPv4 and IPv6; routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, etc.); VLAN segmentation management; and NAT.
- Minimum 5 years of experience troubleshooting and performance tuning network applications and devices.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with network access control management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with reviewing and analyzing requests for network connectivity.
- Minimum 3 years of experience interfacing with circuit vendors for installing new circuits or upgrading existing circuits.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Cisco VPN technology and appliances.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Cisco/Meraki wireless deployment, engineering, and administration.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
