Responsibilities:
•    Management of all incoming work for the Platform. This includes Change Requests, Access Requests, Fault Reports, Account Management, Resource Management (both staff and Platform)
•    Liaison with all groups, including 3rd party engagement
•    Tracking progress of work
•    First line support for networks, applications, data bases, servers and services.
•    Reference DNS administration (adding, deleting, modifying)
•    Mountpoint creation (eg SUDO) on Netapp Filer
•    Server new-build check
•    Environment monitoring (to include service-watcher) to determine the Platform status
•    1st/2nd line troubleshooting of any system mentioned above (e.g. applications, data, networks, servers)
•    Assist suppliers with the installation and commissioning of network and server hardware
•    Identify, define recommend and implement improvements to the processes relating to the Platform
•    Adopt to Plutora test environment management tool to track all booking and changes

Skills:
•    Skilled administrator with at least 5 years’ experience in an IT related environment
•    Self-motivated, keen to learn in a practical way about leading edge technologies
•    Ability to quickly identify possible root cause of problems and determine resolution (either fix or delegate)
•    At least two years supporting both Unix and Windows based systems, based on Solaris, HP, Dell and Netapp.
•    Basic knowledge of networks and related devices, such as Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, Alteon and F5 load balancers, TACACS, Terminal Servers
•    Knowledge of mobile service platforms, e.g. SMSC, WAP Gateway, Voice Messaging
•    Able to produce high quality reports relating to the Platform health
•    Innovative and well organised with the ability to get on with people in a pressured environment.
