We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Senior Security Analyst to join our team in Albany, New York (US-NY), United States (US).

This position requires being on-site 50% of the time.  

 

MECM Quality Assurance Senior Security Analyst

The MECM Senior Security Analyst supports the Department of Health (DOH) Division of Operations and Systems (DOS) in security quality assurance activities for the Medicaid Eligibility and Client Management (MECM) system. This role reviews system and application security documentation, security controls, vulnerability testing results, audit materials, contractor responses, and related project artifacts for alignment with contractual, regulatory, privacy, and security requirements. The position works with Department, QA, project, security, and vendor teams to support clear security findings, risk identification, compliance review, and informed recommendations for protecting MECM system functions, Medicaid data, and related implementation activities across the MECM hybrid SDLC.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Review contractor-submitted MECM security documentation, system security materials, application security artifacts, audit materials, and related project documentation for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with applicable requirements.
  • Assess contractor compliance with security, privacy, regulatory, legislative, contractual, and audit requirements, including applicable Department, State, Federal, HIPAA, CMS, and NIST-based security expectations.
  • Review and assess MECM system and application security controls, security processes, policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to identify gaps, risks, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Review vulnerability assessments, penetration test results, security testing results, audit findings, remediation plans, and related evidence to confirm documented risks are tracked and addressed.
  • Evaluate contractor responses to security findings, incidents, vulnerabilities, audit observations, and remediation activities for completeness, timeliness, and alignment with expected outcomes.
  • Review security-related logs, reports, assessments, and supporting documentation to identify trends, unresolved risks, control gaps, and potential impacts to MECM system functions and Medicaid data.
  • Identify security risks, privacy concerns, compliance gaps, open questions, documentation issues, and remediation needs, and prepare findings and recommendations for QA leadership and Department review.
  • Support review of security considerations across MECM SDLC activities, including requirements, design, testing, implementation, deployment, operations, disaster recovery, and post-implementation support.
  • Coordinate with Department, QA, project, security, and vendor teams to clarify security requirements, address open questions, confirm review findings, and support timely follow-up on assigned MECM security activities.
  • Prepare security QA findings, comments, recommendations, risk summaries, compliance review inputs, and status updates to support Department review and follow-up.
  • Maintain assigned security review materials, comment matrices, findings, risk information, status inputs, remediation tracking information, and supporting evidence in Department-designated repositories.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) + years of experience in a security role within the information technology industry.
  • Five (5) + years of experience in information security, including reviewing and assessing system and application security.
  • Two (2) + years of experience working with cloud-based systems and assessing related security implications.
  • Two (2) + years of experience with security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • One or more relevant security certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, GIAC Information Security Fundamentals, Microsoft security certification, Associate of ISC2, CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CEH, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Ability to work 50% onsite at the client office located in Albany, New York.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using security testing methodologies, including penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and risk assessments.
  • Experience reviewing security compliance, regulatory, legislative, contractual, audit, privacy, and risk-related requirements.
  • Experience reviewing vulnerability assessments, penetration test results, security testing results, audit findings, remediation plans, and related security evidence.
  • Experience preparing security findings, risk summaries, compliance review inputs, recommendations, and status updates for leadership or client review.

 

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role is $101,400 – $169,000. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
