Job Description: Azure Data Factory (ADF) Developer with SQL & Power BI Expertise (6+ Years Experience)

This role requires an experienced Azure Data Factory (ADF) Developer with strong SQL and Power BI expertise. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, build insightful Power BI dashboards, and ensure high-quality data integration and analytics across Azure platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Development

Design, develop, and deploy ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines and data-driven workflows using Azure Data Factory to ingest and process data from diverse sources.

• SQL Development & Optimization

Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading across large datasets.

• Data Integration

Create and manage ADF linked services, datasets, mapping/wrangling data flows, and integration runtimes. Build solutions integrating data across SQL Server, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen2).

• Power BI Reporting & Analytics

Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports using data models sourced from ADF-enabled data pipelines.

• Create optimized data models (star schema, DAX).
• Implement row-level security (RLS).
• Apply best practices for report performance and usability.
• Work with business teams to translate analytical needs into visual insights.

• Orchestration and Monitoring

Implement and manage scalable data workflows in ADF.
Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot failures, configure alerts, and optimize orchestration logic to meet SLAs and ensure reliability.

• Collaboration and Documentation

Collaborate closely with data architects, BI developers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Document ETL processes, pipeline configurations, data models, and Power BI architecture.

• Data Governance

Ensure data security, privacy, compliance, and governance standards are consistently applied across Azure data components.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Skills (6+ Years Experience Required)

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or BI development roles.
• Strong SQL proficiency with expertise in writing complex queries and performing performance tuning.
• Extensive experience with Azure Data Factory—pipelines, data flows, integration runtimes, and orchestration.
• Strong expertise in Power BI including:
• Data modeling
• DAX calculations
• Report development
• Performance optimization
• Row‑Level Security (RLS)
• Experience with Azure Data Lake (Gen2), Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics or data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and best practices.

• General Skills

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines for data/BI components is a plus.

• Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Azure Data Engineering or Power BI certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
