Training and Development Manager

 

Position Overview

NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Training and Development Manager to join our team. We are looking for an individual who can lead a team of Instructional Designers to design and develop high quality instructor-led and e-learning experiences based on instructional theory and best practices from the field. This individual will also be responsible for developing overall training strategies in partnership with key stakeholders and implementing the process, tools, and governance to support the development, delivery, and maintenance of the learning experiences created by the team. This team supports the learning and development needs of a professional services division delivering both management consulting and digital transformation services to their clients.

 

Position's General Duties and Tasks

Role Responsibilities:

Able to implement industry standard instructional design methodologies and e-learning development tools to: 

  • Conduct training needs, audience, and content analysis at a program or project level
  • Lead the design and development of a variety of instructional materials for traditional instructor-led courses, online programs, web-based learning aids or products, and other programs as needed. 
  • Establish and enforce adherence to all learning and development standards, templates, and procedures.
  • Use a variety of authoring and software applications for developing web-based instruction 
  • Evaluate instructional programs and process 
  • Develop and implement formative and summative evaluation plans 
  • Determine appropriate mitigation strategies to address findings of instructional program evaluations 
  • Project and Program manage small- and large-scale learning development efforts
  • Evaluate performance of instructional designers and provide appropriate coaching and feedback
  • Manage development and continuous improvement of training and development products and processes

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in learning strategies, structured methods, and approaches to meet business schedule and budget objectives 
  • 8+ years of Instructional Design experience including working with e-learning integration standards (AICC, SCORM, etc.), building e-learning courseware, and working with learning management systems 
  • 5+ years of experience developing courseware using prominent authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or equivalents tools, as well as emerging development tools such as video, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, and mobile tools and platforms.
  • 5+ years of effectively communicating with key stakeholders in consulting and digital transformation businesses to gather and provide information

 

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, or writing/communications related majors or equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience 
  • Master’s degree in education, instructional design, or writing / communication related majors or equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience 
  • Consulting and/or professional services firm experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and customer relations skills, particularly in cross-functional and matrixed organizations
  • Ability to grasp technical content and remain aware of emerging instructional technologies to make tool or technology recommendations to offer the best learning experience possible
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to uncover root cause and evaluate different solution options 
  • Ability to model and coach exceptional organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Coach and develop Instructional Designers and other learning and development team members
  • Must be a team player and a consistent, dependable performer with an excellent work ethic, flexible "can-do" attitude, and a results-driven commitment to success
