We are currently seeking a Technical Solutions Architect Director to join our team in Austin, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

As Technical Director, the candidate will lead the Innovation of key functionality and operations delivery for the assigned account business. This role will work with senior leaders in delivery of innovation services with the focus on providing relevant solutions, educating, and building awareness with end users and driving adoption across the enterprise. The Technical Director will lead and work on dynamic teams to deliver the most challenging and complex solutions for Data Center and Cloud transformation teams within several multi-cloud platforms. He/she will partner closely with the Account Sr. Director to optimize the utilization of resources to meet the strategic objectives of the business.
 Our goal is to ensure that our solutions are comprehensive, innovative and are future proof with a very clear ROI for our customers. The Technical Director will report directly to the Account Sr. Director.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive enterprise architecture framework, standards, governance principles, and provides strategic guidance on technology acquisition and lifecycle management.
  • Leads managers, architects, and IT professionals through guidance, coaching, and support to ensure assignments are completed in accordance with established guidelines, policies, standards, and procedures. Understands the overall organizational vision and translates it into team goals aligned with departmental and organizational goals.
  • Collaborates and provides strategic guidance to key stakeholders, department heads, and senior management on enterprise architecture and technology-related matters including risks, opportunities, potential impacts, and prioritization. Ensures IT Architecture and associated technology solutions are in place to meet business objectives and can respond with agility to changing business priorities,
  • Facilitates the creation and informs the enterprise architecture strategy with actionable roadmaps, to include emerging technologies, trends, and various architectural perspectives (e.g., business, information/data, application, technology, and security)
  • Creates a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement and leads teams through periods of change and transformation.
  • Oversees the planning, design, implementation, and measurement of IT systems and ensures a balance between growing the agility required to achieve business objectives and ensuring core IT functions are reliable, stable, secure, and efficient.
  • Provides guidance on the implementation of large or complex projects and oversees progression while ensuring the department program portfolio is managed effectively through governance and planning processes. Engages in initiatives as needed to facilitate the realization of value and work with sponsorship to evaluate the achievement of value.
  • Manages the department budget and financial resources including but not limited to technology services, software, hardware, and expense tracking ensuring the most effective use to maximize outcomes.
  • Stays abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes, and provides direction on which emerging technologies should be introduced, integrated, and assimilated to improve operational effectiveness and manage risk.
  • Participates in the evaluation and selection of vendors, review of contracts and management of vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and reliable IT services and solutions.
  • Partners effectively with Portfolio Management, Cloud Transformation, Agile CoE, Product Management, IT Security, Supply Chain, Legal, and the broader IT Architecture community.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on the development of the technology capability roadmap.
  • Collaborates on the development of IT policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring they are up to date and in line with area of responsibility and industry standards. Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of diversified IT experience required.
  • 5+ years managing first level leaders and high-level professional staff required.
  • 6 + years of experience in technical IT architect capacity
  • 3+ years of experience leading and managing an Enterprise Architecture function required.
  • 8 years of experience in designing and implementing scalable and secure solutions.

Other Key Characteristics:

  • ITIL®, TOGAF®, Agile, SAFe®, PMI®, Organization Change Management, and Lean Six Sigma certifications.
  • Knowledge of Public Sector and State, Local and Education agencies, including government related standards and regulations preferred.
  • Minimal Travel for onsite delivery of strategic plans
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and emerging technologies such as generative AI and its applications preferred.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture tools, graphical modeling approaches, and repository management preferred.
  • Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost/benefit tradeoff analysis, risk management, business ecosystems, to include “as a service” preferred.
