We are currently seeking a AI Engineer / Senior Java Engineer to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).
Job Title: AI Engineer – Allianz
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer with strong experience in enterprise application development, API/integration development, and GenAI-assisted coding, particularly with tools such as Claude Code.
The role will support the BMP program by expanding the scope of local integrations and contributing toward an end-to-end solution rather than limiting the engagement to a specific integration component. The candidate will also work closely with the local team and potentially form part of a small offshore engineering team providing ongoing development and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, review and maintain Java/Spring Boot-based enterprise applications and integrations.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs, microservices and system integrations.
- Understand existing local integration architecture and identify opportunities to extend the scope toward end-to-end solutions.
- Collaborate with local/BMP teams to understand business and technical requirements.
- Review and validate AI-generated code, particularly code generated using Claude Code and other GenAI coding assistants.
- Ensure AI-generated code meets enterprise standards for:
- Code quality
- Security
- Performance
- Maintainability
- Scalability
- Test coverage
- Provide technical guidance and code reviews to offshore team members.
- Identify opportunities to leverage GenAI for software development, testing, documentation and productivity improvement.
- Participate in solution design, technical discussions and architecture reviews.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support for integrations.
- Work across local and offshore teams to ensure smooth delivery and knowledge transfer.
- Help establish development standards, best practices and governance for the offshore team.
- Contribute to building a scalable offshore delivery model supporting the BMP program.
Required Technical Skills
Mandatory:
- 8+ years of experience in Java development.
- Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17+.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
- Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Strong understanding of API integrations and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with SQL/relational databases.
- Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Good experience with unit and integration testing.
- Strong experience in code review and technical design.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar AI coding assistants.
- Ability to critically review and improve AI-generated code, rather than relying on AI output without validation.
