We are currently seeking a Azure SQL DBA Engineer to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

About the Role
We’re seeking an Azure-focused SQL DBA to lead and support end‑to‑end database migrations to Azure SQL (Managed Instance/SQL Database) and SQL Server on Azure VMs. You’ll own assessment, planning, execution, optimization, and steady-state operations—covering performance, HA/DR, cost, governance, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and migrate on‑prem SQL Server workloads to Azure SQL MI / Azure SQL DB / SQL Server on Azure VMs
  • Execute discovery, right‑sizing, and dependency mapping using DMA/DMS/Azure Migrate
  • Plan and implement cutover strategies (online/offline), rollback plans, and migration runbooks
  • Configure and manage HA/DR (AGs, failover groups, geo‑replication, backups, PITR)
  • Performance tuning (indexes, query plans, waits, I/O, memory), capacity planning and cost optimization
  • Implement security & compliance: TDE, Always Encrypted, AAD auth, RBAC, PIM, Auditing
  • Operate and automate using Azure Monitor/Log Analytics, Alerts, Policy, and IaC (Bicep/ARM/Terraform preferred)
  • Support production (on‑call rotation), incident/problem management, and change control (ITIL)

Required Skills

  • 10+ years as SQL Server DBA; 3+ years Azure SQL (MI/DB) migrations
  • Strong with SSMS, Azure Data Studio, Azure Database Migration Service (DMS), DMA, backup/restore strategies
  • SQL performance tuning & troubleshooting (Query Store, Extended Events, DMVs)
  • HA/DR design & operations; security hardening and governance
  • Scripting with PowerShell and T‑SQL; familiarity with DevOps CI/CD for data
