We are currently seeking a IT Senior Web Engineer to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Role: IT Senior Web Engineer / Senior Full-Stack Engineer
Experience: 10+ years overall, including 5+ years of hands-on web development
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Role Overview

Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced IT Senior Web Engineer with strong full-stack development expertise and a solid understanding of secure application engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, securing, and supporting enterprise-grade web applications within a complex global technology environment.

The role requires deep experience in modern web technologies, microservices-based architectures, application security, backend/API development, and enterprise data platforms. The engineer will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and business teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance enterprise web applications.
• Build modern web solutions using Angular, React, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Design and develop backend services and integrations using RESTful APIs, .NET Core, and related technologies.
• Apply strong object-oriented design principles, design patterns, multithreading, and inversion of control.
• Design and implement solutions based on microservices architectures.
• Identify, analyze, and remediate application security vulnerabilities, including OWASP Top 10, SAST/DAST findings, and third-party/dependency risks.
• Implement secure coding practices covering authentication, authorization, data protection, and API security.
• Work with enterprise data platforms including SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, and Sybase.
• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis for complex application and production issues, particularly security-related defects.
• Participate in production support and contribute to application stability and operational resilience.
• Follow Agile engineering practices, including TDD, BDD, CI/CD, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Embed appropriate security controls throughout the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipeline.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, security, architecture, and business teams across global locations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-stack software development experience, with strong expertise in modern application architectures.
• 5+ years of hands-on web development experience using:
• Angular and/or React
• TypeScript / JavaScript
• HTML5
• CSS
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, multithreading, inversion of control, and dependency injection.
• Hands-on experience designing and building microservices-based applications.
• Strong backend and integration experience with:
• RESTful APIs
• .NET Core
• Enterprise integration patterns
• Experience with relational/enterprise databases such as SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, or Sybase.
• Proven experience identifying and remediating application security vulnerabilities.
• Strong understanding of:
• OWASP Top 10
• Secure coding practices
• SAST and DAST findings
• Dependency/security risks
• Authentication and authorization patterns
• API security
• Data protection
• Strong hands-on experience with debugging, root cause analysis, and production support.
• Experience working in Agile development environments using TDD and BDD.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and incorporating automated security controls into engineering workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with global engineering, security, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Python is preferred.
• Experience working on large-scale, security-sensitive enterprise applications.
• Exposure to automated application-security scanning and vulnerability-management processes.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications toward microservices/API-driven architectures.
• Prior experience within financial services, investment banking, or similarly highly regulated environments would be advantageous.
