We are currently seeking a Linux Systems Engineer - Server Migration to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Linux Systems Engineer – Server Migration supports a large-scale data center migration program, relocating physical and virtual servers between facilities with minimal downtime and strong service continuity.

Core focus

• Plan and execute end-to-end server migrations.

• Migrate VMware ESXi hosts and virtual machines using vMotion, Storage vMotion, and cold migration methods.

• Manage iSCSI storage connectivity, LVM-based storage provisioning, and filesystem validation.

• Build automation and runbooks to make migration workflows repeatable and reliable.

• Troubleshoot performance, application, and infrastructure issues before, during, and after cutover.

Key responsibilities

• Own and engineer the Linux compute platform across migration phases.

• Coordinate migration waves, rollback plans, and validation checklists.

• Maintain security, stability, and compliance across Linux infrastructure.

• Work with support teams and internal engineering groups to resolve complex issues.

• Contribute to modernization efforts involving Kubernetes, OpenShift, and related platform technologies.

Must-have skills

• Overall 8 - 10 years of experience with 4+ years of hands-on Linux/Unix engineering experience.

• Strong experience with large-scale server or data center migrations.

• Deep VMware ESXi/vSphere knowledge.

• Strong iSCSI networking and LVM expertise.

• Scripting skills in Bash and Python.

• Good understanding of networking, CI/CD, and container platforms like OpenShift/Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Experience with migration tools such as Zerto, Veeam, or vCenter Converter.

• Exposure to public cloud, databases, security tooling, and configuration management platforms like Ansible or Puppet.
