SAP S/4HANA Transformation – Project Systems (PS) Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Project Systems (PS) Lead to lead the design, implementation, and delivery of PS workstreams in large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programs. The role is responsible for aligning project-based business processes with SAP S/4HANA best practices, ensuring seamless integration with Finance and Logistics, and driving successful transformation outcomes.

The PS Lead will work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and cross-functional SAP teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and high-quality S/4HANA PS solutions.

Key Responsibilities

S/4HANA PS Workstream Leadership

• Lead the SAP PS workstream in S/4HANA transformation projects (Greenfield, Brownfield, or Selective Data Transition).
• Own end-to-end delivery of Project-to-Cash (P2C) and Project Costing & Controlling processes.
• Act as the primary escalation point for all PS-related topics.

Solution Design & Configuration

• Drive solution design and hands-on configuration for SAP PS including:
• Project structures (WBS, Networks, Activities)
• Cost Planning, Budgeting, and Availability Control
• Project Settlement and Results Analysis
• Revenue Recognition (EVM / RAR integration)
• Ensure alignment with S/4HANA Finance (Universal Journal) and controlling integration.

S/4HANA Transformation Activities

• Lead Fit-to-Standard (F2S) workshops and process harmonization sessions.
• Manage ECC to S/4HANA PS simplifications and functional impacts.
• Support custom code (RICEFW) remediation impacting PS processes.

Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate integration with FI, CO, MM, SD, PM, and HR modules.
• Ensure seamless integration with Procurement, Billing, and Finance.
• Collaborate with technical teams (ABAP, CPI, interfaces) for enhancements and integrations.

Testing, Cutover & Go-Live

• Lead PS-related unit testing, SIT, UAT, and defect management.
• Own cutover planning for open projects, budgets, and settlements.
• Provide go-live and hypercare support, ensuring stable operations.

Governance & Team Leadership

• Ensure adherence to SAP Activate methodology, project standards, and documentation.
• Review and approve functional designs, configurations, and test artifacts.
• Mentor PS consultants and support knowledge transfer.

Required Skills & Experience

SAP PS Expertise

• 10–12+ years of SAP experience with strong hands-on expertise in SAP Project Systems.
• At least 2 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA transformation projects in a PS Lead role.
• Strong understanding of project-based accounting and controlling.

S/4HANA & Finance Integration

• Deep knowledge of:
• Universal Journal (ACDOCA)
• PS–FI/CO integration
• Results Analysis and Settlement
• Experience with Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) integration is a plus.

Knowledge on LeanIX, Signavio for process flow preparation and discussion with business team, is an added advantage

Leadership & Delivery

• Proven experience leading PS delivery in large SAP programs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in global onshore–offshore delivery models.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA certification in Project Systems or Finance
• Experience with SAP Activate methodology
• Industry experience in Engineering, Construction, EPC, Energy, or Professional Services
• Exposure to SAP CPM, EPPM, or SAP Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) is an advantage
