Business Domain Architect – Insurance

Senior domain architect with 13+ years experience combining deep business domain expertise with cloud, data, AI and agentic AI architecture. Strong Azure & GCP architecture knowhow with working knowledge of AWS

Locations: Bangalore/Chennai/Delhi NCR/Pune/Hyderabad. Mode: Hybrid / client-facing    Primary cloud: Azure + GCP; AWS working knowledge    Domain focus: Policy, claims, underwriting, actuarial

ROLE PURPOSE: Own business domain and technical architecture for insurer transformation across policy, underwriting, claims, billing, actuarial/pricing, distribution, reinsurance and customer servicing. Translate business and regulatory goals into secure Azure/GCP-led cloud, data, AI and agentic AI architectures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES    MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
•    Demonstrate strong knowledge of Insurance capabilities across P&C, life, health and reinsurance value chains, from quote, bind and policy issuance through claims and servicing, and use this knowledge to shape capability maps and target-state architectures.
•    Advise on insurance transformation initiatives, including core platform modernization, digital journeys, data and analytics platforms, automation, cloud migration and enterprise AI adoption.
•    Provide insurance-domain architectural guidance for Azure and GCP solutions supporting policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, actuarial, distribution and customer-service platforms, without necessarily being responsible for hands-on engineering or platform configuration.
•    Identify and shape AI and agentic AI use cases relevant to insurance, such as claims intake and triage, underwriting workbenches, policy-servicing copilots, fraud investigation and actuarial insight agents.
•    Understand and guide the application of RAG, vector search, document grounding, tool use, guardrails, explainability, human-in-the-loop review, GenAIOps, evaluation and responsible AI within insurance processes and regulated data environments.
•    Define and guide canonical data and integration patterns across policy administration, claims, billing, CRM, broker and agency portals, data platforms and SaaS/COTS insurance systems.
•    Lead domain-focused workshops with insurance product, operations, actuarial, risk, compliance, security, enterprise architecture, engineering and vendor stakeholders across India and Portugal.
•    Provide architectural oversight through insurance reference architectures, architecture decision records, non-functional requirements, risk and compliance reviews, solution assessments and governance forums.
•    Work closely with cloud, data, application, security and AI engineering teams that are responsible for detailed design, development, configuration and implementation.

    - 13+ years in technology/consulting, including 5+ years in architecture and 5+ years in insurance transformation programs.
- Deep insurance knowledge in at least one major line: P&C, life, health or reinsurance; strong understanding of policy, billing, claims and underwriting.
- Hands-on architecture depth in Azure and GCP; practical familiarity with AWS, hybrid integration, identity, network, security and cloud governance.
- Strong data and integration skills: APIs, events, lakehouse/warehouse, master data, document processing, workflow, microservices and COTS/SaaS integration.
- Good AI and agentic AI architecture know-how: LLMs, RAG, multi-agent patterns, vector databases, LLMOps/GenAIOps, model evaluation, guardrails and AI risk.
- Working knowledge of privacy, consent, auditability and regulatory expectations relevant to India and EU markets, including GDPR where applicable.
- Excellent English communication; able to influence business and technology stakeholders across CET/IST overlap.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    Azure Solutions Architect Expert 
•    Google Professional Cloud Architect 
•    AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional
•     TOGAF/Business Architecture and insurance credentials such as LOMA, AINS, CPCU or equivalent 
•    Experience with Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco or OneShield is valuable.
