Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on, enterprise-ready Presentation UX/UI Designer to drive the user experience strategy, interface design, and component architecture of our global headless eCommerce applications. In this senior design role, you will be the core experience owner responsible for crafting high-converting interfaces, mapping complex transactional user journeys, and structuring modular design tokens for decoupled frontends.

You will design the presentation layer for Next.js applications hosted on Vercel, orchestrating layout strategies for modular content managed via Contentful CMS and designing transactional touchpoints powered by CommerceLayer. You will work closely with Frontend Engineers, Solution Architects, and Product teams to translate complex content models and API workflows into accessible, performant, and responsive interfaces that display flawlessly across all digital viewports.

Dedicated Experience & Technology Breakdown
To ensure high-fidelity layouts, technically viable component structures, and frictionless conversion funnels, candidates must meet the exact design experience parameters defined across the following modules:

1. Presentation Layer Architecture & Next.js Design Alignment
• 8+ Years: Hands-on experience designing responsive digital products inside the eCommerce domain using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, with advanced mastery over design tokens, auto-layout, grid systems, and typography.
• 4+ Years: Direct experience collaborating on Next.js frontend architectures, designing with a strict focus on how UI structures, heavy layout patterns, dynamic loading states, and media choices impact Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) and Vercel hosting performance.
• 3+ Years: Hands-on experience building and maintaining atomic design systems optimized for utility-first styling frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS) to ensure seamless developer handoff.

2. Contentful CMS Modular Layout Strategy
• 4+ Years: Architecting enterprise-grade design systems that map 1:1 with Contentful content models, ensuring visual designs are broken down into flexible, reusable content types, component slices, and responsive layout blocks.
• 4+ Years: Designing for dynamic, unpredictable content streams, establishing rigorous UX layout constraints for modular entries, variable character counts, image aspect ratios, and multi-layered entry relationships.
• 3+ Years: Structuring UX wireframes that align natively with Contentful's data delivery via GraphQL APIs, ensuring design elements accommodate skeleton screens, asynchronous loading states, and live content previews.
• 2+ Years: UI design experience optimized for multi-market architectures, including localized design templates, field-level vs. entry-level UI adaptations, and regional font hierarchies.

3. CommerceLayer Engine & Transactional UX
• 4+ Years: Dedicated experience designing high-converting, global transactional eCommerce presentation layers (cart, checkout, payment gateways).
• 2+ Years: Direct experience designing frontend interactions that integrate with CommerceLayer APIs, including complex multi-currency checkouts, asynchronous micro-carts, real-time pricing grids, inventory-driven UI badges, and localized user account portals.

Key Performance Responsibilities

Core UX/UI Design & Prototyping
• Create clean, scalable, and intuitive UI designs that bridge the gap between Next.js frontend layers, Contentful data feeds, and CommerceLayer engines.
• Build and maintain enterprise-grade Figma design systems that dictate tokens, variants, and interactive states corresponding perfectly with frontend component slices.
• Map complex transaction pathways, cart configurations, validation states, and checkout errors to minimize user friction.

Performance Optimization, Accessibility & Security
• Enforce strict visual performance standards, designing layouts that respect page speed, optimize image aspect ratios for Next.js Image components, and eliminate visual layout shifts (CLS).
• Design comprehensively for web accessibility, ensuring all screens achieve strict WCAG 2.1 AA/AAA compliance, including color contrast, focus states, and screen-reader-friendly logical flows.
• Establish clear UI/UX safety markers for secure authenticated customer dashboards, payment portals, and data collection forms.

Agile Execution & Technical Governance
• Participate in daily scrums, sprint planning, and design-to-development handoff sessions, providing accurate design complexity estimations.
• Conduct rigorous design QA reviews on Vercel preview deployments to guarantee development builds align with approved high-fidelity designs.
• Maintain immaculate design system documentation, tracking component tokens, responsive behaviors, and content block guidelines.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical & Domain Capabilities
• Technology Stack Alignment: High proficiency in Figma, FigJam, Tokens Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools. Strong conceptual understanding of React.js, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Contentful CMS structures, and CommerceLayer capabilities.
• Testing & Tools: Deep experience with usability testing platforms (UserTesting, Maze), analytics tools (Hotjar, Google Analytics), Jira, Confluence, and design handoff extensions (Zeplin, DevMode).

Leadership Competencies
• Proven experience leading small design squads or product tracks, providing strategic UX governance and mentoring mid-level designers.
• Excellent visual communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design logic and business trade-offs clearly to technical stakeholders and executive leadership.

Educational Background
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, User Experience, or an equivalent design/technical field.
