We are currently seeking a Software Development Analyst to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Automation Tester / QA Automation Engineer

Experience

6-9 years

Role Summary

We are looking for an Automation Tester who can build and maintain robust test automation frameworks for web applications and APIs. You will work with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure high quality releases through automated regression, integration, and CI/CD-driven testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand requirements and create test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
• Automate regression, smoke, and sanity test suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform API testing (REST) and validate responses, schemas, and data.
• Perform functional, integration, and end-to-end testing across modules.
• Log defects with clear evidence (steps, screenshots, logs) and track them to closure.
• Collaborate closely with developers to improve testability, quality, and coverage.
• Run tests, analyze failures, and maintain stable and reliable test suites (reduce flaky tests).
• Prepare QA reports and quality metrics (pass/fail trends, coverage, defect leakage).

Required Skills

Automation

• Strong hands-on with at least one UI automation tool:
  Selenium / Playwright / Cypress
• Strong knowledge of test frameworks:
  TestNG / JUnit / PyTest / Jest (based on stack)
• Page Object Model (POM) / Screenplay pattern understanding
• Ability to write clean, maintainable automation code

API Testing

• REST API testing using Postman/Newman and/or automation libraries (RestAssured / SuperTest)
• Understanding of HTTP methods, headers, status codes, OAuth/JWT
• JSON validation, schema checks, and payload assertions

Programming

• Proficiency in at least one language:
  Java / JavaScript / TypeScript / Python
• OOP concepts, data structures basics, debugging skills

CI/CD & Tools

• Git, build tools (Maven/Gradle/npm)
• CI/CD exposure: Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps
• Reporting tools: Allure / Extent / HTML reports

Nice-to-Have

• Performance testing: JMeter / k6
• Database testing: SQL queries, data validation (Postgres/MySQL/Oracle)
• BDD exposure: Cucumber
• Docker basics and running tests in containers
• Mobile automation: Appium (if relevant)
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and test estimation

• degree in Engineering/CS or equivalent experience
