Data Engineer Sr. Consultant

Job Description: Senior Data / Business Analyst (P&C or General Insurance Domain Experience Required)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst with strong Business Analysis capabilities to play a pivotal role in our large-scale enterprise data modernization program. In this role, your primary focus will be navigating complex data structures, performing deep data analysis, and leading the migration of legacy insurance data to our next-generation cloud platform. Secondarily, you will utilize your business analysis skillset to act as a bridge, translating complex technical data into business-friendly canonical formats and facilitating alignment across multi-functional insurance teams.

Primary Responsibilities (Data Analysis):

• Data Mapping & Design: Produce robust source-to-target mappings (STTM), complex business rules, report logic, KPI definitions, and comprehensive data dictionaries for the enterprise data platform.

• Legacy-to-Cloud Translation: Analyze, profile, and translate Guidewire CDA feeds and legacy AS400/DB2 structures into clean, business-friendly canonical requirements optimized for medallion architecture.

• Data Quality & Validation: Drive data profiling initiatives, lead data issue triage, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and report validation.

• Technical End-to-End Governance: Ensure strict data traceability across the lifecycle, mapping every element from initial requirement through to technical test evidence and final sign-off.

Secondary Responsibilities (Business Analysis):

• Requirement Elicitation: Leverage 8+ years of experience to elicit, analyze, and document complex data, reporting, and reconciliation requirements across core insurance operations.

• Domain Alignment: Collaborate deeply across key business units, including Policy, Claims, Billing, Finance, and Agency operations.

• Stakeholder Facilitation: Act as the key interface and facilitate workshops with business SMEs, Product Owners, Actuaries, Underwriting, and Regulatory/Reporting teams to align data engineering with business goals.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional experience in data analysis, data migration, or data-heavy business analysis roles within the Property & Casualty (P&C) / General Insurance domain.

• Expert-level SQL skills with a proven track record of querying, profiling, and analyzing large, complex relational databases and modern cloud data warehouses.

• Hands-on experience working on large enterprise modernization and cloud migration programs.

• Exceptional analytical ability to dissect legacy code or feeds (like AS400 or Guidewire) and structure them into modern data lake environments (Silver layer design).

Preferred Certifications :

• SQL / Data Analytics certification (e.g., Azure Data Analyst, AWS Certified Data Analytics, or equivalent).

• CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis).
