This is a core functional planning role, and candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience with MRP, forecasting, and demand planning, rather than primarily transactional supply chain or order management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand demand forecasts and translate them into executable material and supply plans.
- Support Demand Planning and Forecasting, including historical demand analysis, forecast generation, forecast adjustments, and demand-supply alignment.

- Manage and optimize key planning parameters such as:
- Lead times
- Safety stock
- Reorder points
- Lot sizing
- Planning horizons
- Order policies
- Minimum/maximum inventory levels
- Analyze MRP exceptions, shortages, excess inventory, supply constraints, and demand fluctuations and recommend corrective actions.
- Support Supply Planning, Production Planning, and Inventory Planning activities.
- Work with Procurement, Manufacturing, Inventory, Logistics, and Sales/Commercial teams to ensure alignment between demand and supply.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and/or integrated business planning processes where applicable.
- Perform root-cause analysis of planning issues and identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and material availability.
- Configure and maintain planning-related functionality within the applicable ERP or supply chain planning system.
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, UAT, deployment, and production support.
- Develop functional specifications and work closely with technical/development teams on planning-related enhancements and integrations.
- Support master data related to planning, including item/material master, BOM, lead times, sourcing, planning parameters, inventory policies, and manufacturing data.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Strong experience in Demand Planning.
- Strong experience in Forecasting and forecast management.
- Good understanding of Supply Planning and Production Planning.
- Strong knowledge of planning concepts such as BOM, inventory planning, safety stock, lead times, lot sizing, reorder policies, capacity considerations, and material availability.
- Experience analyzing and resolving MRP exceptions, material shortages, excess inventory, and supply-demand imbalances.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain planning processes.
- Hands-on experience with an enterprise ERP or Supply Chain Planning platform.
- Ability to work directly with business planners, manufacturing teams, procurement, and IT teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with one or more of the following platforms would be advantageous:
- JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE E1)
- SAP / SAP S/4HANA
- Oracle ERP / Oracle SCM Cloud
- SAP IBP/APO
- Other enterprise demand and supply planning solutions
Experience with S&OP, IBP, capacity planning, production scheduling, inventory optimization, or advanced planning systems (APS) would be an added advantage.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The client is specifically looking for someone with core planning expertise. The strongest candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate practical experience in:
MRP → Forecasting → Demand Planning → Supply Planning → Production/Material Planning → Inventory Optimization
Candidates whose experience is predominantly in Order Management, Sales & Distribution, Procurement, Warehousing, or general ERP support without hands-on planning experience may not be suitable for this requirement.
