Systems Integration Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive  DB2/PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of database management, but more importantly, they will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and grow within the role. This position is perfect for someone who is eager to develop their technical skills while contributing to our database management efforts. The candidate will work closely with more experienced team members, gaining hands-on experience and insights into best practices in database administration.

List of Key Accountabilities:

• Database Maintenance: Assist in the routine maintenance of DB2/PostgreSQL databases, including monitoring performance, backups, and recovery processes.
• Data Entry and Management: Support data entry tasks and ensure data integrity by performing regular checks and updates.
• Query Optimization: Learn to write and optimize DB2/PostgreSQL queries under the guidance of senior team members to improve database performance.
• Documentation: Help maintain documentation for database processes, procedures, and configurations to ensure clarity and continuity.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to understand database requirements and assist in implementing solutions.
• Learning and Development: Actively seek opportunities to learn from senior staff and participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills.
• Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and resolving database issues, escalating problems to senior staff as necessary.
