We are currently seeking a Systems Integration Specialist to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

  • Resolving incidents and service requests relating to the server operating system, virtualisation hypervisor
  • Perform availability monitoring as part of incident resolution on server OS instances, infrastructure availability (ping and heartbeat)
  • Perform health checks and proactive configuration management like reviewing critical configuration settings on server environment, proactively responding to changes, periodically reviewing operating systems logs and triage and take-action when required
  • Provide Out of Hours On-Call support for P1 or critical incidents. P1 or critical incidents are addressed 24x7x365 days. Outside of the Business Hours, P1 or critical incidents are handled through On-Call Support.
  • Verify system operability after maintenance activities
  • Rebuilding the operating system or host level as part of incident resolution or major failure from existing data backup data, if available
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backup failure incidents at the OS level
  • Support restoration activities from backup upon client request for OS level configurations and data extraction in support of an incident ticket
  • Submit and process CMDB inventory updates to reflect server environment changes
  • Troubleshoot and manage performance and space utilisation
  • Create and manage local accounts, including service accounts where applicable
  • Troubleshoot and remediate permission issues, unlock local accounts and reset local passwords based on receiving authorised requests
  • Handle permissions and access management of server/operating system. Manage and control access to virtual environments to enable security and integrity to be maintained within the capabilities of the available toolset
  • Periodically review operating system security logs and act upon any issues found and maintain system security logging and associated configuration data to capture all relevant information for the delivery of the Services
  • Reconfiguration of virtual machine resources (CPU, RAM, Storage) at client’s request, advising where not possible due to any technical limitations
  • Troubleshoot and remediate problems in the high availability-supported infrastructure for Platinum and Gold environments and engage other teams if needed
  • Apply and record operating system patches (including security risk related patches) as appropriate in line with the agreed patch management process
  • Plan critical firmware and software upgrades according to customer’s agreed Change Management window time and process
  • As required for the continued provision of the service, start, shutdown and restart the server, host or operating system processes
  • Liaise with 3rd-party suppliers and vendors where required as part of incident resolution
  • Use reasonable endeavours to support the server hardware or operating system which is not supported by the hardware/software vendor
  • Maintaining gold server images and standard server build processes
  • Maintain the standards, definitions and associated documentation for VMWare infrastructure management
  • Manage and troubleshoot VMWare vCenter Server inventory, roles and permissions
  • Manage, maintain and troubleshoot VMWare vSphere resources and availability
  • Troubleshoot performance issues using VMWare built-in toolset
  • Manage host hardware health (common information module or manual)
  • Server provision/decommission as requested by client
  • Assist in server operating system version upgrades
  • Perform relevant remediation actions on server environment raised as a result of disaster recovery exercise or vulnerability assessment
  • Support the hardware troubleshooting and repair processes, including vendor coordination for hardware and related software based on client-purchased maintenance agreements from the OEM
  • Participate as resolver party in Priority 1 resolution process (owned and managed by eir’s service management team)
  • Responsible for the provision of detailed, timely and accurate progress reports to standard in line with Major Incident and Problem Management processes
  • The Supplier shall be responsible for the maintenance and operation of monitoring solution on all Infrastructures.
  • manage the ongoing upgrade, replacement and build of IT infrastructure to support demand management and/or capacity management and to assure service availability and stability across all eir Group data centres.
  • The Supplier shall be responsible for implementing fix on fail changes and BAU changes to the IT server infrastructure following the eir Group’s Change Management process and software asset management (“SAM/eiram”) process as set out in Schedule 15 (Policies, Procedures & Standards).
