We are currently seeking a Technical Engineering Lead to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Title: Technical Engineering Lead

We are looking for a highly experienced individual to drive, define and lead engineering quality across a large data product-based ecosystem.

This is the top engineering roll within a program which will contain 4 pure engineering squads, and a number of delivery squads hopefully eventually ramping up to eight. Accountable for the engineering quality across the platform, approving or defining standards, and heading the process to validate that a given activity is within the program and corporate standards.

Main Duties

• Being the final point of decision making on engineering standards (including standards for developer in test rolls)
• Reviewing LLDs from across a wide array of teams
• Aiding the lead architect with reviews into HLDs
• Helping to bridge the gap between engineering and architecture
• Defining and refining accelerators to be built and delivered to the wider team
• Ensuring that the delivery squads are aligning to the engineering squads
• Enforcing org-wide engineering direction and guardrails within the program
• Aiding less experienced teams with agile process and ceremonies
• Empowering the program to deliver data product to the highest quality
• Managing stakeholder demands and expectations, and changing priorities
• Working closely with the QA lead to promote the push of quality to be shifted left

Requirements

• 10+ Years of experience within data engineering
• 5+ Years of experience at the Lead/Staff/Principal level or above
• Experience of working in a roll with responsibilities across multiple delivery squads
• Real world experience with Lakehouse and medallion architectures
• Very strong knowledge of Data Product design
• Real world experience with Kafka
• Real world experience with Snowflake
• Comfortable working in Jira
• Experience in a multi-vendor environment
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal to technical and business audiences
• Fluence in Python
• Experience in an agile structure
• 3+ years of real-world AWS experience
• Comfortable working with conflicting and quickly changing priorities
• Experience with IAC and CI/CD
• Experience with database evolution and management

Desirable

• Certification and experience in scaled agile processes
• Experience with managing teams from a different provider
• History of work in an architecture or architect adjacent roll
• AWS Certification to associate, or preferably professional level
• Confluent cloud certification
• Experience with github actions
• Experience with terraform
• Experience running low downtime releases
• Knowledge of DBT
