We are currently seeking a Test Data Engineer - SDET (Data Foundations)_306671 to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Title: Test Data Engineer – SDET (Data Foundations)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SDET to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing the implementation of data solutions on AWS infrastructure and a variety of core and supplementary technologies. This roll will be embedded within an agile engineering team, with a strong focus on shifting quality as far left as possible, and working with engineers to push all the way into unit tests where possible.

This roll is working on proofing the quality of data products as delivered by the data foundations squad. This will include a wide variety of technologies and close working with engineers to ensure that the monitoring and metrics are aligned with the formal testing, and that all tests are aligned with the limitations of unit testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Test and assure new data products as they are produced
• Work closely within engineering to improve quality as a whole
• Collaborate with upstream SDETs who worked on the libraries your team is using to align test approach
• Understand and review the implemented Unit tests for data processing applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a multi-vendor environment to understand business requirements and translate them into technical testing solutions
• Create and maintain test scripts as per the test basis
• Execute test scripts for Contract, API and Performance Testing.
• Raise and track data quality issues in Jira
• Implement Test data governance and quality control measures
• Create formal guidance for downstream QA who are using the libraries delivered

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Overall 5+ years of testing experience of which 3+ years of experience in data engineering quality assurance
• Experience in AWS cloud services, particularly Lambda, SNS, S3, and EKS, API Gateway
• Experience with testing data warehouses / snowflake
• Experience with testing data streaming systems / Kafka
• Experience with Interface/ API testing.
• Experience with Specmatic (or similar contract testing tool)
• Experience with Artillery.io (or similar nonfunctional testing tool)
• Experience with Python & SQL
• Experience with CI/CD GITHUB Actions (or similar)
• Experience of testing asynchronous system
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer)
• Experience of writing formal QA sign offs, and/or MS handovers
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with AWS CDK
