We are currently seeking a Scrum Master to join our team in Barreal de Heredia, Costa Rica.

SAFe Scrum Master

The SAFe Scrum Master coordinates and coaches up to two Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) scrum delivery teams, ensuring all activities follow the principles of the Scrum Framework. 

Position overview

The Scrum Master will work with teams to iteratively and incrementally deliver value. The Scrum Master drives their team’s preparation for PI Planning as well as the resultant execution of their commitments. The Scrum Master creates an environment that empowers and energizes team members, with a focus on accountability, adaptability, and collaboration in program activity planning and execution.

Position's General Duties and Tasks:

• Holds teams accountable for delivery, continuous improvement, and staying true to values.
• Makes work visible and removes impediments encountered by the team, ensuring the team is as productive as possible.
• Facilitates and owns team ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
• Prepares team for and facilitates team breakouts during PI Planning
• Ensures team readiness for System Demos and Inspect & Adapt sessions.
• Facilitates coordination with external dependent teams.
• Enables delivery and product team to be ready for Sprint and Program Increment planning.
• Mentors the Product Owner and team in best practices related to user story creation, prioritization and Product Backlog refinement ensuring the team focuses on technical needs, including improvements to testing and deployment processes.
• Collects and utilizes data and team metrics to demonstrate team capacity, velocity, predictability, & maturity.
• Coaches teams new to Agile and Scrum on mindset and fundamentals.
• Collaborates with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to contribute to the improvement of Agile practices within the organization, including through Communities of Practice.
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments; work is performed without direction.

Qualifications

Must have Skills:

• 5+ years as a Scrum Master
• 7+ years of experience working with agile methodologies on large scale, technically complex environments
• Experience coaching and mentoring others
• Proven ability to facilitate the removal of impediments
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced facilitation, presentation, influence, and relationship management skills
• Validated agile learning/credentials such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), IC Agile Team Facilitator (ATF), SAFe Agilist, or SAFe Scrum Master
• Experience with Agile Tracking tools (agile lifecycle management tools); preference for Azure DevOps (ADO)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with Cyber Security teams
• Experience working with both development and non-development scrum teams
• Experience as a scrum master in a Scaled Agile (SAFe, LESS, etc.) environment
• Advanced certification such as Certified Scrum Professional or SAFe Practice Consultant
• Experience with Portfolio Tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Align

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
