We are currently seeking a Senior Application Strategist - Enterprise Architecture to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (US-LA), United States (US).
Lead software development for one or more systems/applications. Defines standards for software development, unit testing, and application security. Facilitate peer review process. Participate in requirements and functional design. Support the development of technical designs and system documentation. Participate in change management and release management processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manages, resolves, and system emergencies and problems related to systems and environments.
- Conducts work independently or in coordination with Information Technology Application staff or end user personnel.
- Participates in (and may lead) projects where analysis of systems or data requires an in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and standards.
- Acts as a technical expert or advisor for highly technical solutions concerning specialized application tools, hardware, software, or database.
- Provides mentoring or training to Information Technology staff for databases, tools, methodologies, and processes related to application maintenance and development.
- Researches innovations and industry trends for hardware, software, processes, and methodologies.
- Supports full Software Development Life-Cycle for complex applications.
- Conduct technical requirements gathering and analysis for needs and parameters.
- Implement complex custom developed application software.
- Implement complex COTS or SaaS products.
- Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
- Defines data models, data definitions, data dictionaries, SQL, PL/SQL, and other database objects, independent of a DBA.
- Develops system documentation, including designs, technical guides, user guides, and other system documentation.
- Provide technical training in applications, software, and systems.
- Manages critical projects with general direction and may allocate some work to others.
- Prepares and manages system tests for complex application systems.
- Executes schedules, costs, and documentation to ensure assigned projects come to successful conclusion.
- Understands large scale multi-tenant software products supporting multiple government agencies.
- Understands large scale software integrations of multiple software products.
Required Skills
- >6 years state level health and human services projects experience
- >6 years of experience applying broad knowledge of applications programming principles, web applications, interfaces, batch development using Java, Java Frameworks, and Java Libraries.
- >6 years of experience conducting advanced work on standard applications programs including creating technical documentation, coding, testing, and debugging.
- >6 years of experience integrating Java applications to external software components such as service-oriented architectures, enterprise service buses, business rules engines, electronic document management systems, master data management systems.
- Undergraduate degree
- Must have knowledge of one or more of the following products: IBM Decision Center, IBM Decision Server, Software AG webMethods, Broadcom/Software AG API Gateway.

- Preferred knowledge of one or more of the following products: Dell Nutanix, Dell VxRail, VMware ESXi/vCenter/NSX/SRM, Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Enterprise Linux, MS SQL Server, Nagios, NewRelic APM/Infrastructure/Browser, Octopus Deploy, Puppet, Splunk, Veracode.
