We are currently seeking a Azure Data Consultant to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Job Title: Azure Data Engineer (7–10 Years Experience)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern cloud‑based data platforms and pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on expertise in Azure data services, data modeling, data ingestion frameworks, and secure, scalable data engineering best practices. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, governed, high‑performance data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Engineering & Platform Development

  • Design, build, and optimize data pipelines on Azure using:
    • Azure Data Factory
    • Azure Databricks
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
  • Implement scalable ingestion & transformation frameworks (batch + streaming).
  • Develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines with strong focus on performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).

2. Azure Cloud Engineering

  • Build and maintain data solutions using key Azure services:
    • ADLS Gen2
    • Synapse Pipelines / Spark Pools
    • Azure Functions
    • Event Hub / IoT Hub / Event Grid
  • Ensure solutions adhere to Azure best practices for scalability and security.
  • Participate in designing cloud‑native improvements and cost optimizations.

3. Data Modeling & Development

  • Develop logical and physical data models (ER, dimensional, star/snowflake).
  • Support Data Vault 2.0–based modeling efforts (Hubs, Links, Satellites).
  • Optimize datasets for analytics, reporting, and BI consumption.
  • Implement data standards, schema evolution, and reusable data patterns.

4. Data Exposure & Consumption

  • Enable secure and governed data access via:
    • Azure SQL / Synapse SQL
    • Delta Lake tables
    • APIs and Service Endpoints
    • Semantic models for Power BI
  • Support downstream analytics teams with high‑quality, reliable datasets.
  • Ensure SLAs for performance, availability, and data freshness.

5. Security, Quality, & Governance

  • Implement data security practices:
    • RBAC, Managed Identity, IAM
    • Encryption at rest & in transit
    • Data masking, tokenization
  • Contribute to metadata, lineage, and catalog solutions (Purview).
  • Build data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting frameworks.

6. Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with architects, business analysts, and product owners.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior data engineers.
  • Partner with vendors and cross‑functional teams to ensure design alignment.
  • Contribute to documentation, standards, and reusable engineering assets.

Required Skills & Expertise

Core Technical Skills

  • 7–10 years of hands‑on data engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise with Azure Data Platform components:
    • Azure Data Factory, Databricks (PySpark), Synapse, ADLS
  • Solid SQL and distributed data processing (Spark).
  • Experience implementing Medallion Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Data Vault and dimensional modeling techniques.
  • Strong understanding of data lakehouse architecture.

Engineering & Operations

  • Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with orchestration frameworks and data workflow management.
  • Experience designing scalable batch & streaming processes (Delta Live Tables, Structured Streaming, ADF mapping/dataflows).
