We are currently seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Job Description: Senior Java Developer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Java EE/Jakarta, JBoss EAP, Spring MVC, Hibernate/JPA, IBM DB2, WebSphere MQ/CICS, Maven, Git, Spring Boot microservices, and legacy system modernization. Familiarity with the insurance domain will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Maintenance

• Design, develop, and enhance applications using Java EE/Jakarta.
• Develop and maintain Spring MVC–based applications and RESTful services.
• Implement persistence layers using Hibernate/JPA.
• Build and deploy applications on JBoss EAP.

• Work with WebSphere MQ for messaging integrations.
• Collaborate on legacy integrations including CICS (Customer Information Control System).
• Ensure secure, scalable, and reliable communication across systems.

Microservices & Modernization

• Design and develop Spring Boot microservices.
• Implement best practices for API design.

Database & Back‑end Systems

• Work with IBM DB2 for data modelling, querying, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with DBAs on schema optimization and stored procedure improvements.

DevOps & Build/Release

• Use Maven for build automation and dependency management.
• Collaborate using Git for version control, branching strategies, and code reviews.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Java EE/Jakarta
• JBoss EAP
• Spring MVC & Spring Boot
• Hibernate/JPA
• IBM DB2
• WebSphere MQ / CICS
• RESTful API development
• Microservices architecture
• Legacy system analysis and modernization
• Maven, Git
• Good understanding of enterprise application patterns and integration frameworks.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good communication skills for interacting with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior developers.
• Agile/Scrum experience preferred.

Preferred but not mandatory

• Experience working in the insurance domain.
