We are currently seeking a RHEL Ansible Engineer_US Citizen-Remote to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

Job Summary:

The Senior Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Engineer will lead RHEL and Satellite Engineering efforts in support of the client as a Service (EITaaS) initiative. This role requires expertise in application design, implementation, and management of Red Hat Satellite 6.16 and Ansible Automation Platform 2.5. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, technical leadership, and strategic planning to ensure the successful deployment and management of RHEL solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Infrastructure Deployment: Deploy containerized infrastructure using Podman Execution Environments.
  • Patch and Configuration Management: Manage large-scale patching, configuration management, and compliance across hybrid RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 systems.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to define host group structures, automation job templates, and compliance baselines.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve host registration, subscription, and repository synchronization issues across development, staging/test, and production environments.
  • Support: Provide technical support for Red Hat infrastructure components and ensure timely resolution of enterprise-level issues.
  • Architecture Expertise: Maintain an expert-level understanding of enterprise, program, and tool-level architecture.
  • Roadmap Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to define the roadmap plan for RHEL capabilities and provide input on Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development.
  • Advocacy and Task Management: Evangelize developed solutions and support the breakdown of tasks into a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated with industry trends and developments to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of technology.
  • Goal Achievement: Ensure all daily, sprint, and release goals are met effectively.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: Identify risks, opportunities, compliance issues, or other architectural concerns and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Mentorship: Develop technical skills within product teams through mentoring, coaching, and peer reviews.
  • Develop and maintain a 10 year roadmap 
  • Establish and meet 2 year strategic goals 
  • Ensure RHEL and Ansible solutions are successfully deployed and comply with DAF standards and policies 

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Must be a US citizen with an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • 15 years of professional experience 
    • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience. 
  • 10 years of Red Hat Operating System experience 
  • 5 years of experience configuring and managing host-based firewalls and system services   
  • 5 years of experience deploying and managing Red Hat Satellite 6.16 with integrated Capsule Servers (Smart Proxies) across distributed network segments  
  • 5 years of experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.5 Application  
  • 2 years of experience managing LINUX disk and volume  
  • Minimum 2 years of experience generating and managing X.509 certificates and private keys for system services and integration with certificate authorities such as DoD NPE. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to collaborate with Developers, Program Managers, Testers, and Production Support Engineers to implement innovative technical solutions via iterative approach reducing time to delivery 
  • Proven experience working directly to oversee and contribute to the architecture and development in an enterprise environment 
  • Ability to anticipate issues and formulate remedial actions 
  • Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills 

 

 

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $128,858 - $298,281. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and AD&D insurance, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and additional voluntary or legally-required benefits.
