We are currently seeking a DataStage Developer - Senior Analyst JV to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nādu (IN-TN), India (IN).

Job Summary

The ETL DataStage Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise‑grade ETL solutions using IBM InfoSphere DataStage. This role focuses on reliable data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across multiple source and target systems, ensuring data quality, performance, and operational stability in batch‑oriented and scheduled environments.

The developer works closely with engineers within their own team and upstream/downstream application teams, and production support to deliver scalable and maintainable data integration solutions and support migration from ETL to other integration solutions based on business and technology need.

Key Responsibilities

ETL Design & Development

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL jobs using IBM InfoSphere DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from diverse source systems (databases, flat files, external feeds) into enterprise data stores and marts.
• Implement reusable job frameworks, common routines, parameter sets, and shared stages to improve maintainability and consistency.
• Apply ETL best practices for data validation, error handling, restartability, and logging.

Data Integration & Transformation

• Develop complex transformation logic, including joins, aggregations, lookups, and data standardization rules.
• Work with structured and semi‑structured data formats (e.g., relational tables, delimited files).
• Ensure accurate mapping between source‑to‑target specifications and business rules.

Performance & Optimization

• Tune DataStage jobs for performance and scalability across multi‑node environments.
• Analyze job runtimes, bottlenecks, and resource utilization; recommend and implement optimizations.
• Support high‑volume, time‑sensitive batch processing windows.

Scheduling & Operations

• Integrate DataStage jobs with enterprise schedulers such as Autosys for reliable job orchestration and dependency management.
• Support job monitoring, failure analysis, and recovery in non‑production and production environments.
• Participate in production support rotations and incident/problem management as needed.

Testing & Deployment

• Perform unit testing, system testing, and data reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support deployments across development, QA, and production environments following change management processes.
• Participate in release validation, migration activities, and disaster recovery exercises.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with enterprise data management and application teams, and business partners to understand requirements and dependencies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including job designs, data flow diagrams, and operational runbooks.  
• Communicate impacts of upstream or downstream data changes and coordinate mitigation plans.
