We are currently seeking a Network-Routing and Switching-Network Design-Network Engineering Specialist Advisor to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nādu (IN-TN), India (IN).

Job Purpose

 This position is to gather scope, design, implement, and test data center infrastructure and B2B connectivity for many clients and franchises with Citi. The work involves doing research, analyzing the current setup, understanding what the new setup needs to be to meet business requirements, understanding the network products to fulfill this and producing documentation of the network configurations as well as raising change controls and taking these approved changes and implementing them on the production network without interrupting services.

 

Key Responsibilities:  Work with the business to understand the applications and their network requirements.  Produce a full network design document with detailed network configurations.  Using the design document produced, create Build Packages which will include implementation plans, test plans and change controls.  Oversee the deployment of hardware and configuration on the corporate data network. Implementing changes occurs out of business hours during the week and primarily on weekends.  Communicate effectively with the Project Managers, local business representatives and stakeholders providing timely updates to ensure successful delivery of the projects.  Ensure that all project management systems are updated to reflect project status and current forecasted time to deliver the solution.  Ensure that the solution is fit for purpose, meets the business objectives and follows the companies processes and standards.  The network engineer will manage a number of projects all at different stages of the project lifecycle.

 

Knowledge/Experience:

Delivered network designs and implemented solutions using Cisco products.

Expert understanding of Cisco network router & switching technologies.

Excellent knowledge of typical investment/retail banking environments or equivalent (major ISP, systems integrator, or global enterprise).

 

Skills

Strong working knowledge of at least three of the following routing protocols: EIGRP, IGRP, BGP, OSPF, RIP

Good knowledge of Data Center network, LAN and WAN solutions

Strong working knowledge of IP, IPSEC, NAT, VPN, VXLANs, B2B connectivity

Experience of using Multicast in a Cisco environment.
