We are currently seeking a Sr Data Engineer to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nādu (IN-TN), India (IN).

Position Summary

The Senior Data Engineer role demands extensive knowledge and hands-on experience across the entire BI stack, from robust data ingestion and warehousing to insightful data visualization and advanced analytics. In this pivotal role, they will be instrumental in leading the development, architecture, and lifecycle management of complex data solutions through non-production and production environments.

The position requires a profound understanding of modern data warehousing methodologies, including Data Vault 2.0 and Dimensional Modelling (Kimball), coupled with expert-level proficiency in enterprise data warehousing tools Snowflake and dbt alongside version and automation tooling such as GitHub

Data Engineering

• Data Ingestion & Transformation: Expert-level experience utilizing modern ETL/ELT tools with a strong emphasis on dbt for data transformation and modelling. Proficient in designing, building, and maintaining complex dbt data models, including the creation, optimization, and governance of dbt macros, packages, and tests. Possesses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve intricate issues within dbt projects and pipelines.
• Enterprise Data Warehousing: Proficient with Snowflake as the primary enterprise data warehouse, including hands-on experience with SnowSQL and Snowpipe for advanced data solutions and performance tuning.
• Data Modeling: Deep expertise in advanced data warehousing methodologies, including Data Vault 2.0, Dimensional Data Modeling, Star Schema modeling, and the strategic design of Fact and Dimension tables (both logical and physical). Ability to lead data modeling initiatives.
• Data Governance & Documentation: Ability to architect, map, and catalog data as it progresses through the data pipeline. Proficient in creating comprehensive mapping sheets, High-Level Design (HLD), and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation, setting standards for the team.
• Requirements Leadership: Leads coordination with business teams to deeply understand their requirements, providing expert guidance and strategic direction to ensure the delivery of maximum value while proactively mitigating technical debt.
• CI/CD & Development Lifecycle: Comfortable owning and championing CI/CD processes to manage the entire lifecycle of data objects and code throughout development, testing, and production deployment, enforcing best practices.
• Quality Assurance & Standards: Responsible for defining and ensuring rigorous testing standards and comprehensive code reviews to guarantee data integrity, solution robustness, and maintainable codebases.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Leads and coordinates UAT with clients, ensuring formal sign-off is received and stakeholder expectations are managed prior to any production-related changes.
