Test Manager


Job Description




Coordinates different phases of testing for strategic releases as part of program involving technology changes with an emphasis on integration, end-to-end and user acceptance testing. Work closely with partners (line of business, technology, etc.) and vendors to ensure requirements are translated accurately into robust test plans and scripts that support the project needs and business stakeholders. May be required to support more than one initiative or multiple set of requirements simultaneously under compressed timelines.




  • Works closely with the Senior Managers with IT, Technology and the wider business
  • Influences direct reports, peers, suppliers and senior stakeholders
  • Can manage conflict at a senior level
  • Full accountability for own work and project/line management responsibilities
  • Leads activities with minimal supervision and demonstrates strong initiative
  • Establishes own milestones and delegates assignments
  • Successfully manages ambiguity and change
  • Maintains a keen awareness of the Technology directorate and of the other business functions
  • People Management
  • Contributes to and embeds testing frameworks and methodologies
  • Stakeholder and Partner Management
  • Plan and assure testing




  • Telecom Domain knowledge (good to have)
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification
  • Proven relationship management/engagement skills and ability to communicate effectively with different audiences
  • Sound test process knowledge and expertise in testing life cycle
  • Relevant domain / industry experience
  • Familiarity in different development methodologies – Waterfall, Agile, etc.
  • Experience in coordinating with multi-vendor teams and On-shore Off-shore teams
  • Effectively communicates with managers, peers, business partners at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, the ability to prioritize requests and workload accordingly, and meet deadlines
  • Have excellent skills for statistics and reporting
  • Good Analytical and problem solving skills
  • ALM and JIRA test and defect management tools
  • Share point and confluence knowledge
  • Excellent working skills with MS office suite of applications including MS project plan
