Business Development Strategic Advisor – Smart Manufacturing

Hi‑Tech, Product, Platform & Smart Manufacturing

The Role at a Glance

As a Strategic Advisor, you will act as a trusted industry voice across Sales, Consulting, and Solution Leadership—with a strong emphasis on Smart Manufacturing and intelligent operations for Hi‑Tech, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing clients.

You will help define how we engage the market where digital engineering meets the factory—connecting product, platform, and data strategies to real operational outcomes.

This role is best suited for someone who has personally navigated manufacturing transformation at scale and can credibly advise executives on what actually works.

Industry & Go‑to‑Market Strategy

  • Shape and evolve our Hi‑Tech and Smart Manufacturing industry strategy, spanning product companies, OEMs, semiconductor firms, and industrial platforms.
  • Define differentiated value propositions that connect:
    • Product and platform engineering
    • Digital manufacturing and operations
    • Data, AI, and intelligent factory initiatives
  • Establish clear executive‑level points of view on manufacturing modernization, factory digitization, and operations transformation.

Strategic Deal & Pursuit Leadership

  • Advise large, complex pursuits where Smart Manufacturing is central to the value story.
  • Help teams frame transformation narratives across:
    • Engineering to manufacturing handoff
    • IT/OT convergence
    • Data‑driven operations and yield improvement
  • Translate manufacturing complexity into business outcomes that resonate with COOs, CIOs, and plant leadership.

Market Insight & Offering Evolution

  • Track and interpret manufacturing‑focused shifts such as:
    • AI‑enabled manufacturing and quality
    • Digital twins and simulation
    • Connected factories and IIoT ecosystems
    • Silicon, systems, and software convergence
  • Influence how Smart Manufacturing offerings evolve to reflect real plant, fab, and operations realities, not slideware.

Must‑Have Expertise: Smart Manufacturing

This role requires demonstrated experience in Smart Manufacturing environments, not theoretical exposure.

Candidates must bring several of the following:

  • Direct experience advising or leading Smart Manufacturing or digital factory initiatives within:
    • Semiconductor manufacturing (fabs, operations, yield, equipment integration), and/or
    • Advanced discrete manufacturing or high‑tech production environments
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing execution and operations, such as:
    • MES / MOM platforms
    • Factory automation and controls
    • Quality, yield, throughput, and performance optimization
  • Experience with data‑driven manufacturing, including:
    • Industrial data platforms
    • AI/ML use cases for manufacturing and operations
    • Digital twins, simulation, or advanced analytics
  • Ability to credibly advise executives on IT/OT convergence, organizational change, and transformation sequencing.
  • Proven success translating manufacturing capability into clear GTM positioning and executive‑level value stories.

This is not a delivery role, but hands‑on manufacturing credibility is essential.

Experience & Background

  • 15+ years in Hi‑Tech, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing environments across:
    • Engineering, manufacturing, operations
    • Consulting or advisory roles
    • Product, platform, or transformation leadership
  • Demonstrated experience shaping Smart Manufacturing strategy, GTM motions, or large‑scale transformation programs.
  • Track record of engaging senior stakeholders across manufacturing, engineering, IT, and operations.

Why a Senior Smart Manufacturing Leader Would Choose This Role

  • Influence how Smart Manufacturing is positioned at the market level, not just implemented.
  • Apply hard‑earned plant, fab, or operations experience across multiple clients and industries.
  • Shape strategy, offerings, and executive conversations without owning delivery teams or quotas.
  • Work with peers who value judgment, pattern recognition, and credibility.
