We are currently seeking a Life Science Business Consulting Managing Director to join our team in Chicago, Illinois (US-IL), United States (US).

The need to speed time to market for new treatments while reducing the cost of research and development and the need to adapt to an increasingly complex market that demands measurable outcomes and greater patient engagement are major challenges.  NTT Data Consulting helps organizations gain the most value from their investments.  We are a business partner to our customers utilizing services and solutions to drive business outcomes.  We seek a Managing Director for our Life Sciences Business Consulting Practice to lead go-to-market strategies and strategic customer engagements.  



  • Advising executives (e.g., CxO, VP, Director) transforming business and operations to improve speed, agility, and support growth
  • Viewed as content expert identifying industry trends and developing Points-of-View to share with clients and the market
  • Orchestrating sales proposals to include: scoping of opportunity, negotiating, and contracting of advisory and planning services and deliverables
  • Oversee multiple work streams in the execution of programs and projects that assess business and operations and building consensus across client stakeholders focused on delivering Business Outcomes
  • Ensuring solutions / recommendations address conclusions and convey insights aligned with practice/client expectations
  • Navigating seamlessly between strategic design concepts and operational improvement ideation toward driving benefit realization for clients
  • Assessing and defining consulting delivery methodologies, approaches, and frameworks that improve engagement quality and success
  • Owning aspects of client planning and interactions toward expending NTT Data Consulting footprint and influence with eventual pull-thru of NTT services delivered
  • Define desired client business outcomes and translating into proposals based on value generated and investment constraints


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in Business Consulting in a combination of client engagement and/or consulting practice role(s)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Life Science domain focused on designing and delivering business outcomes
  • Minimum 3 years’ business consulting experience in Pharmaceutical segment to include a combination of: strategy/planning, commercial operations, cost & process optimization, and delivering client consulting engagements
  • Bachelor's Degree


Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience within business consulting practice leading client engagements
  • Success in generating business opportunities and “growing the footprint” at targeted customers that result in closing new business deals
  • Experience identifying and/or managing company-relevant research topics with quantitative and/or qualitative analyses, including synthesis to generate business insights and/or support/delivery recommendations
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time
