About the Role

NTT DATA’s Commercial/Manufacturing Sector is seeking an accomplished Energy & Utilities Industry Solutions Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help drive growth across North America. This role is ideal for a senior industry professional who thrives at the intersection of industry expertise, digital transformation, and consultative business development.

As an Industry Solutions SME, you will play a critical role in shaping market-facing offerings, supporting complex pre-sales initiatives, and partnering closely with sales, consulting, and technology teams to deliver differentiated solutions for Energy, Power, and Utilities clients.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Champion business development, pre-sales, and solution design across Energy & Utilities industry domains.
  • Proactively collaborate with Sales and Account Teams to identify, shape, and advance new opportunities.
  • Define and evolve industry focus areas, solution offerings, and go-to-market strategies aligned to client priorities and industry trends.
  • Partner with Technology and Consulting Practices to build scalable, industry-specific solutions.
  • Establish and grow an industry ecosystem, including relationships with ISVs, hyperscalers, and strategic technology and services partners.
  • Lead industry analyst and advisor engagement and contribute to thought leadership and marketing initiatives.
  • Engage confidently with C-level executives and senior business stakeholders, driving strategic conversations and large-scale transformation initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of overall professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience driving or enabling digital transformation within Energy, Power, Utilities, or closely related industries.
  • Deep industry network and relationships within Energy, Power, and Utilities (required).
  • 7+ years crafting differentiated, innovative, and compelling value propositions.
  • 3+ years of hands-on pre-sales or solutioning experience.

  • Strong understanding of current and emerging trends in the Energy & Utilities industries.
  • Experience defining industry strategies, offerings, and go-to-market solutions.
  • Proven success in winning and closing complex, high-value deals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultative selling skills.
  • Strong analytical, research, and industry domain expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic conversations and influence senior executives.
  • Solid understanding of technology platforms and architectures and their application to industry and line-of-business transformation.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to multi-task and operate proactively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to design, articulate, and execute strategic plans.
