We are currently seeking a Mainframe and Unikix Lead Consultant - Remote USA to join our team in Dallas, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

NTT DATA’s Application Modernization practice is the leading provider of rehosting and migrating of Legacy mainframe applications to the open platforms UNIX, Linux and Windows and the re-architecture of legacy applications. 

This is a remote based position, but candidates must reside in the US and be able to work Central Time zone hours.

Responsibilities

• Solutions and executes migration of Mainframe applications into NTT DATA’s UniKix environment
• Uses knowledge of Mainframe technologies like COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, Assembler, DB2, IMS, files, etc to migrate off the Mainframe
• Uses knowledge of Unikix or Microfocus software to implement the solution
• Uses Linux scripting to implement migration glues
• Implements DevOps solutions on the rehosted system

Basic Requirements

• 6+ years in Mainframe migration/rehosting experience

Additional Skills

• Good understanding of legacy and current technologies; ability to identify code patterns and understand coding strategies; ability to propose, design and implement technical solutions, leveraging NTTDS tools and methodology, modern technologies, and frameworks; ability to create, automate and execute test cases and scripts

• Proven experience with the following practices:
• Works well with clients, their stakeholders and end users
• Experience in requirements solicitation
• Able to differentiate between needs & wants
• Experience in translating business requirements into technical requirements
• Ability to work well within the team
• Familiar with programming languages, and able to read some legacy code at a high-level to understand code rules
• Proven ability to apply programming languages to develop solutions to business needs
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, or equivalent
• Familiarity with the following experience in large software projects
• Experience modernizing applications
• Linux Hands on Experience; Experience on Microfocus / Clerity (Unikix)

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role will depend on the nature of the role offered and will either be $135,000-240,000 or $95-99/hour if the role is hired as a temporary position. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.

This position is eligible for company benefits that will depend on the nature of the role offered.
