ESG Job Description:

NTT DATA is looking for an experienced sustainability expert to support the growth of Sustainability Services offerings and provide subject matter expertise. This leader will play a key role in the definition and delivery of sustainability solutions based on current market trends and client needs. This role will collaborate with other consulting practice leaders and manage team members to deliver sustainability projects to clients. The Sustainability Services Manager will also support ongoing business development activities.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Support development of key Sustainability Services offerings that differentiate from the market, create wins, and drive growth in the North American market.
  • Manage teams to help clients across various industries improve their sustainability practices through analytics and insights, assessing current sustainability reporting processes and implementing technology to enable these processes.
  • Monitor sustainability performance and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Serve as Project Manager or Subject Matter advisor during Sustainability Services client engagements and manage teams to deliver high quality results.
  • Assist with business and proposal development for climate and sustainability-focused subject matter to develop client focused solutions.
  • Contribute to marketing and thought leadership by publishing blogs and white papers, participating in conferences and speaking events, and contributing to internal education efforts.
  • Stay up-to-date on sustainability-related news, trends, and best practices.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, environmental science, or related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in an ESG, sustainability, or related roles.
  • 2-3+ years of consulting experience.
  • Experience in sustainability strategy development, materiality assessment (double materiality preferred), and implementation of sustainability strategies.
  • Experience in sales, and delivery in a global enterprise setting preferred. Non-English language proficiencies are a plus.
  • Experience managing Scope 1, 2 and 3 corporate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory data, sustainability KPI measurement, reporting and assurance.
  • Experience with sustainability software and analytics tools, data management, processes and controls mapping.
  • Experience supporting compliance with existing and emerging sustainability disclosure requirements including CSRD, SB-253, SEC, etc.
  • Experience in project management including planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing staff to achieve the successful and on-time completion of external client projects.
  • Familiarity with target-setting methodologies, such as the Science Based Targets initiative and the Climate Pledge.
  • Familiarity with disclosures including CDP (Climate required, Water and Forest preferred), Integrated Reporting, GRI, SASB, TCFD, and some of the following: S&P Global CSA (DJSI), MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, Refinitiv, EcoVadis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to attract, grow, and develop talent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel as needed, ability to work hybrid in New York City, Plano, Nashville, Phoenix, or Atlanta preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
