What You Will Be Doing

In this role with NTT DATA Ireland, you will play a pivotal part in driving operational efficiency and ensuring the seamless execution of day-to-day activities in the country. Your focus will be on managing “middle” and “back office” operations, enabling the Country Lead to concentrate on client-facing activities and growth initiatives. You will take the lead in implementing governance structures to manage and measure progress against the Sector Strategic Growth Plan, ensuring compliance with NTT DATA’s policies and procedures.

A core responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy and consistency of sector pipeline data within the CRM system (Salesforce), leading weekly pipeline calls and providing forecasts of order intake metrics to the Sector Head and broader UK business. You will also lead the monthly sector P&L forecasting process, collaborating closely with finance teams and delivery directors to ensure revenue, margin, and cost projections are accurate.

Your role will extend to managing invoicing, aged debt, and margin improvement plans, ensuring that financial operations run smoothly. You will also prepare monthly sector reporting packs, tracking KPIs, escalating risks, and driving process improvements. As a visible member of the Sector Leadership Team, you will foster strong internal relationships, engage in constructive challenge, and contribute to building a high-performing business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operational Oversight:
    • Manage day-to-day “middle” and “back office” operations, ensuring a “tightly run ship” that supports sector goals.
    • Implement and enforce governance to track progress against the Strategic Growth Plan and NTT DATA KPIs.
    • Ensure compliance with NTT DATA policies, including bid approvals, signature policies, and data protection.
  • Pipeline Management & Financial Oversight:
    • Oversee sector pipeline data within the CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring accuracy and consistency.
    • Lead weekly pipeline calls with client executives and provide order intake forecasts for the fiscal year.
    • Lead the monthly P&L forecasting process, working with finance, client executives, and delivery teams to ensure accurate projections of revenue, margin, and costs.
    • Manage invoicing accuracy, monitor aged debt, and ensure timely approval and clearing of WIP.
  • Sales Investment:
    • Define and approve sales investment, including marketing expenses, the use of commercial levers (sales executives, partners, and alliances), and dedication to pre-sales and other non-billable activities to ensure business growth.
  • Sector Resource Management:
    • Forecast and allocate resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to effectively support operational activities and ensure optimal performance.
    • Conduct regular reviews to optimise resource utilisation and maintain a positive, supportive team culture.
  • Reporting & Process Improvement:
    • Prepare monthly sector reports, tracking KPIs and escalating risks or issues to the Sector Head.
    • Continually identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Business Development (Delegated Authority):
    • Provide delegated sign-off authority for bids and business development activities when the Sector Head is absent, ensuring business continuity in decision-making.
  • Strategy Implementation:
    • Translate the sector’s strategic objectives into operational plans and initiatives, ensuring that day-to-day activities align with broader business goals.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including C-level executives.
    • Support and engage with other sector leadership team members, offering constructive challenge and accountability.
    • Work closely with the UK&I COO to implement companywide initiatives within the sector.
    • Manage quarterly sector Townhall meetings, gathering insights from various departments including Finance, Delivery, and Marketing.

What You Will Bring

You will bring extensive experience in operational leadership, business management, and financial oversight. Your ability to manage day-to-day operations, ensure compliance with corporate policies, and drive financial performance will be essential to your success. In addition, your leadership skills will enable you to foster a positive and high-performing team culture while maintaining strong relationships across the organisation.

Key qualities include:

  • Operational & Financial Expertise:
    • Proven experience in managing business operations, ensuring compliance, and delivering against financial targets.
    • Strong understanding of business accounting principles, financial forecasting, and reporting.

    • Analytical skills to process data, create reports, and perform trend analysis to support decision-making.
    • A track record of implementing process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

    • Experience in defining and approving sales investments, including marketing expenses and leveraging commercial resources (sales executives, partners, and alliances) to drive growth.

    • Strong ability to forecast and allocate resources effectively to optimise team performance and project outcomes.
    • A proven history of conducting regular reviews to ensure optimal resource utilisation and foster a positive team culture.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including C-level executives, fostering strong internal relationships.
    • A role model for others, contributing to building a high-performance culture and holding others accountable.
  • Decision-Making & Problem-Solving:
    • Confidence in making pragmatic and reliable decisions in a timely manner, especially under pressure.
