We are currently seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to join our team in Fort Bragg, North Carolina (US-NC), United States (US).
Position's General Duties and Tasks:
As a Cloud Network Engineer you will evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, and perform problem isolation and resolution, monitor, tune and sets standards for all aspects of Networking. Maintain a complex range of computer network components and systems both on premise and cloud based. Plans and coordinates computer network initiatives. Researches, evaluates and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies. Design solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. Provide internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, workstation support, company management and departmental clients. Works with other Special Operations network professionals as directed to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes.
Duties:
- Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to complex problems
- Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks
- Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability
- Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
- Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks
- Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks
- Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
Basic Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- Minimum 5 years of network engineer experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSec VPNs
- Minimum 2 years of experience in troubleshooting multi-vendor network issues in the WAN and work with multiple teams to identify bottlenecks and other network configuration issues
- Minimum 2 years of experience in evaluating network performance and interact with users to solve complex networking problem
- Minimum 2 years of experience in AWS or Azure Cloud environments.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II
Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate/bachelors degree
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification
- AWS or Azure Cloud certifications
- CCNA Certification
- CCNP Certification
- Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
- May be required to provide clear written documentation on network procedures and diagrams
- Must be able to effectively interact with staff from other sections on complex client/server problems
- Must closely follow network protocols and methodology
- Military experience preferred
- Expert level knowledge of the OSI model, common network protocols, TCP/UDP ports, and common network troubleshooting tools (tcpdump, wireshark, etc)
- Has full technical knowledge of all phases of network operations.
