NTT DATA is looking for a Cloud Assessment/Migration Lead to support client in Ft. Belvoir, VA. The successful candidate will develop the capability to modernize applications and migrate then into the commercial cloud using Enterprise Common Shared Services. As part of this migration, the client requires that a thorough assessment is conducted of each application’s composition to determine the proper modernization and migration methods needed to host the application in the commercial cloud environment. Once the assessment is completed, applications will be modernized as required and deployed to the appropriate impact level (IL, 2,3, 4 or 6) cloud environment.

 

Position's General Duties and Tasks

As the Cloud Assessment/Migration Lead you will provide technical management, direction, administration, quality assurance and day-to-day technical activities for implementing large scale Cloud Assessment and Migration modernization projects. You will be responsible for translating the client’s business requirements into specific systems, applications, or process designs as they migrate their applications to the cloud. You will help define project level resource plans and effectively on-board resources to application migration projects in pursuit of delivering infrastructure migrations to public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. As part of your duties you will determine the level of application development that may be required to migrate the applications to the cloud. You will report to the Chief Engineer Architect.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently active Secret security clearance (or higher)
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT, Computer Science, Information Systems related field with 14 years of experience with managing and leading a large enterprise IT organization at the national scale
  • Must meet 8570 requirements for IAM II positions (One of: CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP [or associate], GSLC, CCISO)
  • AWS and/or Azure certified architect
  • Five years’ experience supporting DoD clients
  • Five years of demonstrated experience leading in a DevSecOps environment
  • Demonstrated experience with public, private and/or hybrid cloud environments
  • Advanced knowledge of SAFe Agile
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in cloud infrastructure projects on migration to public clouds such as AWS and Azure IL2-IL6.
  • Strong background in systems administration for Linux/Unix and/or Windows
  • Ability to use wide variety of open source technologies
  • Experience re-platforming and refactoring applications to cloud based services

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an IT, Computer Science, Information Systems related field.
  • Enterprise Architecture certification (e.g DoDAF or FEAF)
  • Experience in the development and implementation of architectural governance and proactively managing issues and risks throughout the delivery life cycle
  • Experience with the disciplines of enterprise software development such as configuration & release management, source code & version controls, and operational considerations such as monitoring and instrumentation
  • Experience in consulting or service provider roles (internal, or external)
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies like Agile/Scrum, Kan Ban etc.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise project life cycle for application modernization and migration
  • Experience in automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Saltstack, Bosh, Terraform or an equivalent.
  • Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or equivalent
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL DBs such as SQL, MySQL, Amazon DynamoDB.
  • Solid understanding of networking and core Internet Protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and routing in distributed networks.
    A working understanding of code and script such as: PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby.
  • A working understanding with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or equivalent
  • A working understanding of scheduling and orchestration with tools such as: kubernetes, Mesos swarm or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge about AIPs designing RESTful services and integrated with other providers.
  • Experience with cloud assessment and migrations processes and technologies such as AWS SMS, Azure Migrate, Plate spin, CloudEndure
