Functional Role (Job Description)

The primary role of this opening is to support General Accounting work as part of GBSS function. The role would also require the person to mentor team and work with different business units to get the business requirements done.

 

This role requires medium to high complexity environments.

Education Background

Bachelors/Masters Degree in Accounting from a good University

Preference will be given to candidates with professional qualification like CA, CPA, ICWA etc

 

Work Experience

12+ Years in Finance with 5-7 years managerial/leadership experience

 

Global experience of working with teams across Geographies will be given preference

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Accurate and timely closure of Books as per local laws – owns the month end reporting process
  • Responsible for building and driving strong internal control environment
  • Monitor annual testing of the internal control environment and assist in the mitigation of any deficiencies.
  • In Liaison with the internal audit team, report results of the annual internal control environment testing to the CFO/Board of Directors and the external audit firm
  • Knowledge/ understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in APAC and IFRS
  • Understanding of Transfer pricing/intercompany invoicing regulations
  • Understanding of Semi-annual and Annual financial statements filings
  • Independently support audit by big 4 audit firm
  • Coordinate with the external auditors and general ledger, tax, and legal teams to ensure an efficient and timely audit.
  • Strong knowledge of reconciliation procedures and practices for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Acts as liaison between Onshore and Shared Services team in the resolution of process related issues
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement and standardization of operations and systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and able to work well in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Effectively communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Ability to manage HR related matters for the direct reports and teams; including interviewing, hiring, compensation planning, ongoing feedback/coaching and formal performance management (e.g., mid-year and year-end reviews).
  • Ability to manage the daily operations and activities of the team and ensure all KRAs are met.
  • Analyze and resolve complex or difficult problems presented by subordinates, and escalate appropriately to the senior management.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
