Functional Role (Job Description)

The Sr. Manager - Finance Reporting is to take responsibility for Advanced Reporting / BI activities, Financial Data mining, Financial Data Analysis and Reporting. The role will be responsible for all kind of Reporting as part of Global Business Support Services Team. The requirement will be to work with various teams to understand, gather and document reporting requirements to meet business needs. Using skills and experience, the person will then use those requirements to design, test and implement reports and dashboards that utilize the underlying data store/warehouse. Looking for an individual, who is forward thinking, enjoys challenges in logical thinking and process improvement, is highly organized and pays close attention to detail.

Education Background

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field

Master’s Degree preferably in an analytical or business discipline (Accounting / Finance, Computer Science, etc.) - MBA Finance, M. Com

BI certifications desirable

 

Work Experience

10 - 14 years of work experience, preferably in Financial Reporting preferably in IT and/or ITeS company in a Global Environment

Knowledge of basic accounting principles

Proficiency in tools like advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, or more advanced tools like SAP BPC, Power BI for data mining, analysis, and visualization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills / Responsibilities (Technical)

  • Database Management: Understanding of database concepts and ability to query databases using power query for retrieving relevant business data.
  • Financial Acumen: Knowledge of basic accounting principles, financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement), and financial ratios for interpreting and analyzing financial data.
  • Business Intelligence (BI) Tools: Familiarity with BI tools for creating dashboards, generating reports, and conducting ad-hoc analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Statistical Analysis: Understanding of statistical concepts and able analysis to derive insights from data.
  • Data Cleansing and Validation: Skills in cleaning and validating data to ensure the accuracy and reliability of reports and analysis.
  • Data Visualization: Ability to create clear and insightful visual representations of data using charts, graphs, and other visualization techniques to communicate findings effectively.
  • Forecasting and Trend Analysis: Knowledge of forecasting methods and techniques for predicting future trends based on historical data.
  • Compliance and Governance: Awareness of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to business reporting, such as GDPR, or industry-specific regulations.

  • Develop and be accountable for Project work plans, ensuring all tasks are delivered in a timely/cost effective manner, anticipating scope issues and obtaining agreement on changes to work plan

 

People Management

  • Ability to manage HR related matters for the direct reports and teams; including interviewing, hiring, compensation planning, ongoing feedback/coaching and formal performance management (e.g., mid-year and year-end reviews).
  • Ability to manage the daily operations and activities of the team and ensure all KRAs are met.
  • Analyze and resolve complex or difficult problems presented by subordinates, and escalate appropriately to the senior management.
